Good morning I bid to the honorable judges, teachers and fellow

audience. My name is Erissha Clarabelle Mening from SK Simpang Kuda.

Today, I am going to tell a story from a book titled Step Outside From
Comfort Zone. I hope you will enjoy it.

Once, there was a handsome, young zebra named Zaim. He was a

cheerful zebra who had many friends. He was kind and helpful too. But
he has one obvious flaw which is, shy and rather timid. That’s why
bigger and bolder animals can easily frighten him. Sometimes, he could
hear one or two of the animals calling him silly names behind his back.

He often tried to be less timid and shy. He wished to be as bold

and as gusty as all the animals he had admired.

Everyday, he would go to the stream to drink. He knew that the

bigger animals would be there too. He wanted to show them how brave
he was even though deep in his heart, he was scared. Sometimes, Zaim
the zebra could feel his legs shaking like soft jelly as he trotted closer
to the bigger animals.

Luckily, the timid young zebra did not live alone. He had a good,
long-time friend, Zima the zebra. She was smaller but she was sweet,
pretty and filled with confidence. She was also kind and gentle. Zaim
the zebra loved and adored his loyal, beautiful friend.

One day, a poor, old woodcutter came into the forest looking for
wood, herbal roots, leaves and wild fruits. His young, twelve year old
son, Zaki, was with him.

Suddenly, Zaim and Zima the zebras heard a loud, piercing sound. Zaim
body was frozen on the spot as he was too shocked by the loud sound.
And they found out that the boy, Zaki, fell into the ravine. He was hurt
and frightened and His dad could not help him on his own as he is not
strong enough.
Out of fear of the woodcutter himself, Zaim then offers to help.
The woodcutter then tied the rope firmly on Zaim’s neck and he
managed to pull the boy out from the ravine.

The woodcutter thanked Zaim’s for his brave and heroic act
towards his son. Zaim was glad that he had helped the boy. He was not
such a timid animal after all, he thought. From then on, Zaim is not
going to be afraid of anything again.

Moral of the story is always believe in yourself and be confident. We

never knew what we are capable of if we do not step out of our
comfort zone.

Thank you.
