Check List for Lashing Movable Objects

1. At closing Cargo Hatch Cover, attention to the followings

□ Clean hatch comings
□ Check compression bar for faults
□ Jack down properly, and
□ Use all cleats correctly
2. On deck Openings
□ Secure access hatches, dome hatches and manholes properly
□ Above openings are not closed from one side only
□ Close caps of sounding line for ballast tank, hold bilge and void space
3. Cargo Gears and other lifting equipment
□ Stow derrick booms and/or monorail hoists in the correct positions, and
□ Lash them firmly
□ Coil wires (Spare wires) store firmly
4. Moorings
□ Coil mooring and/or hawsers around drums thoroughly, and
□ Set on their covers properly
5. Anchor
□ Stow anchors in place using stoppers and controllers, and
□ Close the covers of the hawse pipe and chain locker firmly
6. Accommodation Ladder
□ Stow accommodation ladder on board correctly and lash
7. Pilot Ladder
□ Stow Pilot ladders in the reel, lash and cover, and
□ Stow accommodation (assist) ladder at the correct position and lash
□ If necessary, transfer Pilot ladders to the safe store or place.
8. Weather tight doors
□ Close On deck weather tight doors of mid-ship store and boatswain's store, and
□ Turn the door handles fully to close the door firmly
9. □ Open all Waterways and Scuppers fully.
