Scones - 2 cups flour, 1/3 cup butter (cold or frozen grated - measure first before grating)1 tbsp.

Baking
powder, 1 tsp salt, 1/4 cup sugar, 1 egg plus 1 egg yolk ( keep the other egg white for brushing the tops),
1/2 milk, 1/4 cup raisins. Okay this is where things differ. I use zest of one orange, frozen orange juice,
usually two large spoons put into a 1/2 cup measure end topped up with milk, . Mix together dry
ingredients. Cut in butter. Beat egg and yolk with milk and add to dry ingredients , mix, then knead
about twenty times, not too much . Pat into a round about 1/2 inch thick and cut with a knife into eight
pieces. Separate and place on cookie sheet. Brush tops with beaten egg white and sprinkle with sugar.
Bake at 425, 10 - 15 minutes. Usually 12 is enough. Don’t over cook them, just nice and light brown on
the bottoms. If you knead them too much they won’t rise. Enjoy! Your welcome! Hope they work for
you. Try them out on your family first! Oh shit, when I use the orange juice, I use dried cranberries! And
I think I use more than 1/4 cup of cranberries. I’m sorry I don’t measure very well.
