NGEC 0723: Activity 02: Introduction to the Study of Globalization

I. Briefly discuss the four main dimensions of Globalization

Sure, here's a simplified version:

1. Economic globalization: This is about how countries' economies are more connected than ever
through trade, investment, and technology, affecting how goods and money flow between them.

2. Political globalization: It's about how ideas and institutions from one country can influence
policies and governance in others, and how international organizations and agreements shape
global politics.

3. Cultural globalization: This is about how cultures mix and spread across borders, influencing
everything from food and fashion to music and movies, sometimes leading to cultural similarities
or clashes.

4. Ecological globalization: It's about how environmental issues like climate change and
pollution are global problems that require cooperation between countries to solve, because what
happens in one place affects the whole world.

II. What is your understanding of the term “globalization”?

As a college student I understand globalization as it's the process where people, ideas, goods,
and services are interconnected across the world. It involves things like international trade,
cultural exchange, and advancements in technology that make the world feel smaller and more
connected. Globalization affects various aspects of life, including economies, politics, cultures,
and the environment.
