1. Compute for the retirement pay Mrs. Santos will receive. She was with the company for 9
years. She is receiving a salary of P22,000/month, working 6 days a week or 24 days in a
month.

Consider in your computation the following:

a. 15 days salary based on the latest salary rate.

b. Cash equivalent of 5 days of service incentive leave

c. 1/12 of the 13th month pay (2.5 days)

ANSWER:

Php 11,000 (1/2 month of salary) x 9 years (years worked in the company) = PHP 99,000.00

Separation Pay

1. The employee has just been fired from the job due to neglect of duties. Will he receive a
separation pay? Why or why not?

The employee would still receive a separation pay even though he/she neglected his/her
duties because officially, he/she was still part of the company with being present during
working hours.

2. Compute for the separation pay of Miss Rey. Her salary is P17,000 and has been working in the
company for the last 2 months.

ANSWER:

Php 17,000 (salary) / 2 = Php 8,500 (sepation pay rate per month worked) x 2 months (period of
employment) = PHP 17,000.00

3. Compute for the separation pay of Mr. Liwanag. His salary is P14,500 and with the company for
the last 7 months.

Php 14,500 (salary) / 2 = Php 7,250 (separation pay per month worked) x 7 months (period of
employment) = PHP 50,750
13th Month Pay

Answer the following question:

1. Compute for the 13th month pay:

Given:

Basic Monthly Salary - P30,800

Daily Rate - P1,283.33

Date Started - April 1, 2021

Unpaid Absences - 3 days

Total annual income - P369,600

13th Month Pay - P17,966.67
