Demonstrating the SRM

This article outlines the key features to demonstrate with the Sustainability
Reporting Manager (SRM).

To demo, use Demo Corp AU or Demo Corp US on UK001.

Feature list of the SRM

• Data Repository
o The Sustainability Reporting Manager (SRM) ensures the
continuity of institutional knowledge in a client’s ESG
reporting. It does so through ensuring that the methodology
to answering questions is preserved over time, to ensure
comparability of questions' responses across years.
• Workflow features
o To facilitate responses across sustainability teams, each
response has both an “Assignee” (persona responsible for
data capture), as well as a “reviewer” (persona responsible
for review and signoff of response). These roles are then
linked to the ‘review by’ and ‘complete by’ deadlines within
Disclosures.
• Year-on-year reporting
o Beyond this institutional knowledge, the SRM facilitates easy
reporting across years. Rather than having to locate and
compile the same information each year, if your response
stays the same, the SRM allows easy copying of previously
completed responses.
• Cross-Framework Linkages
o Ensuring common themes exist across responses in various
different frameworks is an essential part of ESG reporting.
Envizi has mapped various frameworks against one another,
to facilitate this process.
• Envizi Guidance
o Envizi Guidance provides clients with a starting point for their
reporting, by collecting best practices that emphasize
logistical, practical steps for reporters.
• Reporting
o Not all stakeholders within an organisation will engage with
the SRM. PDF extracts provide a nicely formatted report that
can be shared with stakeholders. Word extracts provide raw
extracts to allow for easy cut and paste for branded ESG
reporting.
Example questions to demonstrate SRM

The following have Responses held in Demo Corp US in Disclosure

“Corporate Sustainability 2020”. They are filled out with relevant data
across a variety of fields, and all have status = “Complete”, as well as
Guidance. When copying these responses into a Disclosure other than “CSR
2020”, try not to change the status = “Complete” when you’re done,
otherwise your new response will become the default for copying in future
responses.

SASB
1. TC-SI-130a.1
2. TC-SI-130a.2
3. TC-SI-130a.3
4. TC-SI-230a.1
TCFD
1. TCFD.Gov.RDa
2. TCFD.Gov.RDb
3. TCFD.MT.RDb
4. TCFD.MT.RDc
UN SDGs
1. SDG13.2

Before the Demo

You must use your Demo login (not SSO) to access the SRM

Please note that in CSR 2021, all responses are filled out. While the
“Copy Previous Response” feature can be demonstrated, it will
require you to fill out a separate response before starting the demo

1. Create a response
a. At the moment, in Demo Corp US, there is only the SASB
standard for the sector “Software & IT Services”. Product is
happy to turn others on as needed, however guidance
content will need to be improved.
2. Take note of the question codes you will be using for search and
showing response fields.
3. Fill in as many response fields that you would like to copy over. In
CSR 2021 we have a disclosure with full responses, across a variety
of frameworks.
4. Mark the response with status = “Complete. This is necessary if you
want to “copy a previous response”, as only “complete” responses
will be available for copy.
5. Please do not touch the Disclosure “Annual Report”. This is the
Disclosure with a normal looking burndown chart
6. If users want their own access to the tool, we can configure it such
that they have a View Only view of the SRM role. This is just the
SRM User + ViewOnly

Step Commentary
1 Access to SRM Login to Demo US or Demo AU and click
on “Sustainability Reporting Manager” in
the Quick Links section of the Associate’s
Home Page.

Note: You must login using a demo login

directly to the associate (eg, not your SSO
login).
2 Sustainability Reporting For the disclosures, be sure to show:
Manager Home Page • Donut Chart:

(lays out the statuses of the questions)

• Three dates:

Ready for review by – this

o
is the date that all
responses should have
been filled out by the
‘assignee’ and ready for
review by the reviewer
o Complete by – this is the
date that all responses
should be considered
complete and reviewed by
the reviewer
o Disclosure Due by – this is
the date that the disclosure
must be published or
submitted. There is no
workflow linked to this
date apart from
notifications if responses
have not been completed
by this date.
• Icons showing initials of people
who have a role in the disclosure
3 Framework Library • Go to Framework Library

• Discussed managed frameworks.

Currently these include:
o SASB (Sustainability
Accounting Standards
Board)
o GRI (Global Reporting
Initiative, currently in
licensing negotiations)
o SFDR (Sustainable
Finance Disclosure
Regulation)
o TCFD (Task Force on
Climate-Related
Financial Disclosures)
o SDGs (UN Sustainable
Development Goals
o INREV (European
Association for
Investors in Non-Listed
Real Estate)
o EPRA (European Public
Real Estate
• Others to come in the future:
o CRP
o GRESB
• On the Framework page, if the
framework has been used in a
disclosure, it will be listed at the
top under the framework
description:

4 Create a Disclosure Briefly discuss what each of the fields

mean, especially how “Disclosure Due” is
informational, and the role of “Default
Assignee” and “Default Reviewer”.

After creating a Disclosure, it’s worth

going into an existing Disclosure to look
into responses to copy over for all of them
in CSR 2021.
Please also go back and delete the
Disclosure after you have created it to
avoid cluttering the SRM with a new
Disclosure after every demo.
5 Add Questions • Select questions across
Frameworks and across themes:
o This allows Envizi
Categorization to be
meaningful.
o When demoing it might
be userful to add SFDR,
SASB or GRI. The
frameworks will show
the value of Envizi
Categorization.
• Multiple frameworks can be added
after the disclosure has been
created with 1 framework.
6 In a response • Lay out what Envizi guidance does:
o Best practices from
surveying a variety of
existing responses for how
to complete the response.
o Instructions on how to use
Envizi to extract the
necessary content to fill
the response.
o Guidance on how to attain
the highest score in a
benchmark type
framework.
• Lay out the importance of the
Methodology field:
o A place to ensure
continuity and act as a
repository of instituational
knowledge; even if a team
changes, the client’s
organizational approach
doesn’t have to.
o This field helps auditors re-
trace the steps taken for
the content submitted in a
response.
• Related Questions:
o Use case: can ensure that
common threads through
your reporting hold in
themes such as human
rights, etc.
• Comments
o Replying to comments.
• Status
o To Do, In Progress, Ready
for Review, Complete
o Note that when some
content is added to a
response, the initial status
will change from To Do to
In Progress.
7 Copy Last Response • Click View Details and copy over
the Methodology and Final
Response.
o This is why you have to
have created a Response
with status Complete.
• Explain logic
o It will copy the most
recently completed
response with status =
Complete
o Same question code
8 Search previous • In a response, click on ‘Search
responses Responses’ at the top right:

Note that this is not ‘global search’

and is only intended to allow the
user to search out content already
captured in other responses
9 Add Links and Show the procedure for adding links and
Attachments attachments:

10 Make a question in a • Navigate back to Disclosures page

Custom Framework and click on ‘Framework Library’
• PURPOSE: Custom frameworks are
useful to report custom KPIs or
reporting against Rating agencies
like MCSI or Sustainalytics
• Click “Create Custom Framework
and Questions:.
• Explain the Use Case:
o Ratings Agencies have
personalised questions,
this cannot be pre-loaded,
but users can get the
benefits of the SRM by
including the question
o Internal KPIs that are
responded to each year in
Disclosures
• Go through the process of making
a Question in a Custom Framework
o Explain that Topic will be
particular to a Framework,
while the Envizi Category
are briad themes that hold
across Custom
Frameworks and Envizi
Managed Frameworks
11 Extract • Two places where you can extract:
o SRM Homepage
o Within a Disclosure
• Elements to show during download
o Select PDF, not Word (PDF
is more aesthetic)
o Click “Add Attachments”
o You can, as you like, select
the different fields you
want to attach
• PDF is more suited to sending to
stakeholders for review, whereas
Word is more useful when copying
and pasting into another document
for publication.
• A folder is downloaded
o You can then show the
document that you
downloaded, it will be in a
folder with the question
code to which they’re
attached
• Show PDF document
