Prayers of the Faithful

7th April 2024 – 2nd Sunday of Easter

Celebrant: Dear sisters and brothers in Christ, as we continue to celebrate the Resurrection
of Christ, we are confident that Christ intercedes for us at the right hand of the Father. With
faith in his love we make our prayers in his name.

C: Our Response will be: Lord, in your mercy, hear our prayer.

Commentator:
1. Let us pray for the whole Church, that all who believe in the Risen Christ may follow
him faithfully.
C: Let us pray to the Lord: Lord, in your mercy, hear our prayer.

2. Let us pray for peace in our world, that Christ’s gift of peace may settle in the hearts of
all people and guide us away from injustice and violence.
C: Let us pray to the Lord: Lord, in your mercy, hear our prayer.

3. Let us pray for all who doubt or struggle with faith, that God’s love and presence may
become known to them and bring light to their life’s journey.
C: Let us pray to the Lord: Lord, in your mercy, hear our prayer.

4. Let us pray for all who are sick or suffering and for those close to death, that Jesus, the
risen Saviour, may give them grace and strength.
C: Let us pray to the Lord: Lord, in your mercy, hear our prayer.

5. Let us pray that the Almighty God will watch over all policemen and law enforcement
officers, protect them from harm in the performance of their duty, and keep them
physically and emotionally strong as they serve and protect our communities.
C: Let us pray to the Lord: Lord, in your mercy, hear our prayer.

6. Let us now pause and pray in silence for our personal intentions.

Celebrant:
God our Father, increase in our minds and hearts the Risen life we share with Christ,
helping us to grow as your people. We ask this through Christ our Lord.
