UNICRI/IB/OM

Dear Sir/Madam,

On behalf of the Ministry of Interior of the United Arab Emirates and the Centre
for Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Robotics at the United Nations Interregional Crime and
Justice Research Institute (UNICRI), we are pleased to invite you to the second
stakeholder meeting for law enforcement on the AI for Safer Children initiative.

Launched in November 2020, the AI for Safer Children initiative strives to

safeguard children who continue to be one of the most vulnerable groups in our
society. More specifically, the initiative seeks to support law enforcement agencies
across the globe to combat child sexual exploitation and abuse materials online by
exploring the positive potential of AI and, to this end, a unique knowledge platform the
AI for Safer Children Global Hub has been developed, which will be rolled out to the
law enforcement community later this year.

During this second meeting for law enforcement representatives, we will provide
a guided tour of the Global Hub and seek insights from its ultimate end users to ensure
that its design and content meet law enforcement needs and requirements and is of
added value for those investigating online child sexual exploitation and abuse.

In this regard, we are extending this invitation to representatives from your

agency involved in or concerned with the investigation of online child sexual exploitation
and abuse to join us in the meeting and to learn about the Global Hub, the role AI can
play and to help guide the next steps of our work. Familiarity with or technological
expertise in terms of AI is not required to participate.

Kindly note that two identical sessions of this meeting will be organized in order
to maximise the opportunity for law enforcement agencies in different time zones to
participate. The first of these sessions will take place on the 28 June 2022 at 08:00AM
CET and the second will take place on the 30 June 2022 at 16:00PM CET.

To confirm your participation, you are kindly requested to complete the

registration form accessible here or here, and, in doing so, to select which of these two
sessions you wish to attend. Once your attendance is confirmed, you will receive a link
and instructions on how to participate in the meeting. Should you have any questions or

1
concerns, please do not hesitate to contact Ms. Rozemarijn Jens
(rozemarijn.jens@un.org) and Mr. Odhran McCarthy (odhran.mccarthy@un.org).

Finally, we are pleased to inform you that Certificates of Participation will be

provided to all participants at the end of the meeting on behalf of the AI for Safer
Children initiative.

We hope to see you in our virtual meeting room soon.

Yours sincerely,

Lt. Col. Dana Humaid Irakli Beridze
