Optical system with double beam technology
The AAnalyst 50 utilizes a double beam optical system which
provides excellent stability. Using a separate sample and
reference beam, a double beam system automatically com-
pensates for changes in hollow cathode lamp intensity. This
gives improved stability and precision, quicker start-up and a
considerably reduced need for operator adjustments during
the analysis, (regular recalibration is often required with single
beam systems). The high-efficiency optical system provides
greater light throughput, enhanced signal to noise ratio and
overall better analytical performance for all elements.
For difficult or dirty samples, background correction is essential.
The AAnalyst 50 includes a standard Deuterium background
correction system.

Safe operation, optimal performance and
maximum versatility
The AAnalyst 50 includes an array of safety features, typical for
more expensive atomic absorption systems, such as drain bottle,
nebulizer, flame, burner head type and gas pressure sensors.
These ensure your safety during operation and simplify user
interaction with the instrument. The status of all these safety
interlocks is clearly displayed on the front panel of the instrument.
For optimal performance and ease-of-use, the AAnalyst 50
has the proven PerkinElmer sample introduction and burner
systems. A robust and cost-effective stainless steel nebulizer,
with the option of a Pt/Ir nebulizer assembly for handling more
corrosive samples, maximizes stability and sensitivity, even for
the toughest samples. Maintenance is simple and no special
tools are required. The nebulizer is adjustable so a wide variety
of aqueous or organic samples can be analyzed. An inert
polymer spray chamber provides superior performance for
analysis of corrosive and high solids matrices. The spray
chamber is manufactured from a high-strength composite,
which eliminates the need for pressure-relief devices.
The PerkinElmer burner is equally user friendly. The corrosion-
resistant solid titanium burner heads install easily in the burner
chamber, while a fail-safe mechanism ensures that the heads
are always properly restrained without the need for hold-down
cables. No tools are required to assemble or disassemble the
burner system for routine maintenance.
