OFFENCES AND PENALTIES FOR PUBLIC & PASSENGERS

Provisions under the Metro Railways (O&M) Act, 2002

SECTION OFFENCE PENALTY
59 (1) Drunkenness or nuisance or act of indecency or Fine upto 500 and forfeiture of paid fare or
interfering in any way with the comfort of any removed from carriage

67 Obstructing running of train, etc. by squatting, Removal from train/ premises and
picketing or interfering in any manner imprisonment upto 4 years or fine upto
5000 or both.
68 Obstructing metro railway official in his duties Imprisonment upto 1 year or fine upto
1000 or both
69 Travelling without proper pass or ticket or Pay excess charge of 50 plus ordinary single
beyond authorised distance fare from the Station, the train originally
started or unauthorized journey is made.
If one fails/ refuses to pay the same on
demand, the Metropolitan Magistrate may
order it to be recovered in the form of a fine
and order imprisonment upto one month in
default of payment.
70 Interfering with means of communication in a Imprisonment upto 1 year or fine upto 1000

metro railway administration

1. Station Controllers are authorized to impose penalties of fine, recovery, forfeiture and removal on any
person(s) committing any of the offences mentioned above in the Jaipur Metro Rail premises, which
includes the entire station premises and metro trains.
2. Depot Controllers are authorized to impose these penalties on any person(s) committing any of the
offences mentioned above in the Mansarovar Depot of Jaipur Metro, which includes the entire Depot
premises and metro trains.
3. Station Controllers of Mansarovar and Sindhi Camp Stations are authorized to impose these penalties
on any person(s) committing any of the offences mentioned above respectively in the entire premises
of Mansarovar and Sindhi Camp Receiving Sub Stations of Jaipur Metro.
4. Station Superintendents, Commercial Inspector, Manager (Operations), Manager (Train Operations) &
Manager (Commercial) are authorized to impose these penalties on any person(s) committing any of
the offences mentioned above in the metro trains of Jaipur Metro.

In case any offender does not pay the fine/comply with the penalty as imposed by any Jaipur Metro
official hereby authorized or the penalty of imprisonment is sought to be awarded in lieu of or in addition to
fine, the above Jaipur Metro officials will be authorized to detain the offenders and hand them over to the
Police for producing them before the judicial authorities.
