Synthesizer V SAROS Setup

IMPORTANT

Synthesizer V Studio Basic or Synthesizer V Studio Pro must be installed to use this voice database.
Synthesizer V Studio Basic can be downloaded for free on the Dreamtonics website, and is available
for Windows, macOS, and Linux. Synthesizer V Studio Pro can be purchased from the Dreamtonics
store.

Installing & Activating the Voice Database

Your computer must be connected to the internet to activate the voice database.

1. Download & locate the .svpk format le included in this package.


2. Double-click the le or drag it into an open Synthesizer V Studio window
3. Follow the instructions on screen until you arrive at the activation prompt seen below

4. Enter the activation code included in your product distribution email from Eclipsed Sounds

5. After activation, the database will be available for selection in Synthesizer V Studio

Updating the Voice Database

Your computer must be connected to the internet to update the voice database.

1. Open Synthesizer V Studio, & open the License & Updates panel from the
toolbar on the right.

2. Click the Check for Updates button at the bottom of the


Installed Products section to see if an update is available.
3. When an update is available, the SAROS entry in the
Installed Products list will display with the green Updates Available
text below it (example right)

4. Select the SAROS icon and click the Update button available in the Status section at the
bottom of the panel, then follow the prompts on screen to nish the update process.
All previous versions can be found in your product download. Users are free to utilize previous versions as suits their needs, but should be aware that the current
license agreement applies to all versions, and that not all versions support all features. As of Synthesizer V Studio 1.7.1, multiple versions of a voice database can be
installed at once, so we suggest trying each one out to see which works best for your needs.

Using the Included Bonus Dictionaries

Dictionaries are a tool in Synthesizer V Studio that allows for a user to create custom pronunciations for words or phrases.
Synthesizer V SAROS, ASTERIAN, & SOLARIA include some bonus dictionaries that help to extend & re ne their pronunciation. Be
sure to add the dictionaries to the folder of any language you would like to use them with.

Installing The Dictionaries


1. Locate the dictionary les folder for Synthesizer V.
○ On macOS:
■ Library/Application Support/Dreamtonics/Synthesizer V Studio/dicts
○ On Windows:
■ Documents/Dreamtonics/Synthesizer V Studio/dicts
■ (may be different depending on how the user initially installed Synthesizer V)

2. Inside this folder, add a new folder titled english-arpabet.


○ If this folder already exists, skip this step.
3. Open the english-arpabet folder.
4. Move the dictionaries from the bonus les folders into the english-arpabet folder.
○ Some of these dictionaries are designed for the cross-lingual synthesis functionality in Synthesizer V Studio Pro. If
you do not have Synthesizer V Studio Pro, do not include these dictionaries.

Using The Dictionaries


1. In Synthesizer V, after selecting the voice for your track, open the Dictionary
panel from the toolbar on the right.
2. In this panel, select your desired Dictionary from the drop-down menu.
○ If using Synthesizer V Studio Pro, be sure to set the vocal’s singing language to match the language of your selected
dictionary’s phonemes. You can set the singer language in the Voice panel, accessed from the toolbar on the right.

Using the Included Bonus Scripts

Scripts in Synthesizer V Studio provide extra tools for users that can automate a certain work ow or allow for additional
functionality. Scripts are only available for users of Synthesizer V Studio Pro, which can be purchased from the Dreamtonics store.

Adding The Scripts


1. Locate the scripts les folder for Synthesizer V.
○ On macOS:
■ Library/Application Support/Dreamtonics/Synthesizer V Studio/scripts ○
On Windows:
■ Documents/Dreamtonics/Synthesizer V Studio/scripts
■ (may be different depending on how the user initially installed Synthesizer V)

2. Move the dictionaries from the Voice Database Extras - Eclipsed Sounds/
Scripts (for Synthesizer V Studio Pro) folder in the SAROS product
download or physical disc into the scripts folder.
3. Scripts can now be used inside of Synthesizer V Studio Pro, from the Scripts drop-down
menu at the top of the window.
○ If you do not see the scripts in your list, select Scripts>Rescan

Deactivating & Uninstalling the Voice Database

Your computer must be connected to the internet to deactivate the voice database.

1. Open Synthesizer V Studio, & open the License & Updates panel from the
toolbar on the right.

2. Select the SAROS entry from the list of voice databases in the
Installed Products section.

3. At the bottom of the panel, under the Status section, select the Deactivate button.

4. Your product is now deactivated and can be uninstalled, be sure to deactivate the software
before uninstalling to preserve your activation code.
