Objectives
John, a utility customer, calls the customer service agent and requests information
about his contract account. The agent needs to find the service location of a
customer (connection object, premise and point of delivery (PoD)). The agent
received only uncomplete and unspecific information from the customer, he doesn't
know if his information is contract ID, a business partner ID or something else. He
needs to use HANA Freetext Search.
The HANA Free Text Search feature on the Identification Split screen provides
interaction center agents with an alternative approach to searching for and confirming
business partners or premises. This feature provides agents with a simple and
intuitive interface which saves time during the identification process. In the search
fields you can enter a variety of search terms like a name, ID or a number. You will
receive a suggestion list containing business partner or premises that match the
search term that you have entered.
Additional Information
• To be able to search for a premise using premise
owner information, an owner allocation must already
exist for the premise. If your search term results in
too many matched entries in the system, it is
recommended that you refine the search term for
more accurate results.
• You can also narrow the search by using multiple
search terms. When searching for multiple search
fields, separate your entries by using space, not
comma.

John, a utility customer, calls the customer service agent and requests information about his contract
account. The agent need to find the service location of a customer (connection object, premise and point
of delivery (PoD)).
With this functionalities you can view and manage the following objects:
• A connection object is a link between installation and postal regional structure. It is usually a building.
Connection objects primarily contain address data, as well as some specific data from SAP IS-U, and
they can be enhanced by customers.
• A premise is an enclosed spatial unit supplied with energy, for example an apartment. Premises contain
a small amount of data from SAP IS-U, such as the number of people in an apartment, which is stored
redundantly in all points of delivery.
• A point of delivery is the location at which a utility service for a business partner is supplied or
determined. Points of delivery also contain data from SAP IS-U, such as the external identifier or grid
information, as well as some information from the connection object. As is the case with connection
objects, you can also add customer-specific fields to points of delivery for specific divisions.
