Thomas Cruise Mapother IV, an American actor and producer, adopted the stage name Tom Cruise. He
was born on July 3, 1962. Thomas is one of the highest-paid actors in the world and has won numerous
awards, including three Golden Globes, an Honorary Palme d'Or, and other honours. In addition, he has
received three Academy Award nominations.

Being one of the most paid actors in film history, he has made more over $4 billion in North America and
over $11.1 billion worldwide from his films.

Cruise received breakthrough parts in the comedies Risky Business and Top Gun when he first began
acting in the 1980s. For his roles in the dramas Born on the Fourth of July, The Color of Money, and Rain
Man, he received favourable reviews from reviewers.

He was nominated for an Academy Award and a Golden Globe for his depiction of Ron Kovic in the
latter. Furthermore, he was a well-known Hollywood actor in the 1990s who appeared in a number of
financially successful movies, such as the drama A Few Good Men (1992), the suspenseful The Firm
(1993), He garnered his second Academy Award nomination and a Golden Globe award for best actor for
the latter.
