417 years. ❖ The town was founded by Ramathibodi I, prince of Utong about 1350 on an island formed by the confluence of the Chao Phraya, Lop Buri, and Pa Sak rivers. ❖ Ayutthaya, in full Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya, is a town and former capital of the Tai state of Ayutthaya (Siam) located in central Thailand, about 55 miles (89 km) north of Bangkok. ❑ In the early part, Ayutthaya extended Thailand’s power over neighbouring countries. During the 17th century, Thailand started diplomatic and trading connections with western countries. The following year he captured the Siamese capital of Ayutthaya and brought the Siamese royal family to Myanmar as hostages. In 1767, King Hsin Byu Shin from KonBaung Dynasty conquered Ayutthaya and won the battle. ❖ In 1767, there was a battle between Myanmar and Ayutthaya.
