Outline for future GAP training/Presentations based on presentation on GAP

Note: Would be better to integrate in orientation training rather than as a separate thing

● Introductions (no ice breaker, do activities instead throughout)


● Quick review of Teams and Track it Forward for new people
● Reminder of expectations
● What is GAP and GHP
○ Distinction from FSMA
○ Why is it important?
● Expectations
○ Sanitary/Hygiene procedures
■ Physical demonstrations for message to stick
■ Make everyone wash hands before going to stations
■ Pay attention to people touching phones (Make them wash hands again)
■ Have people tie back hair and take off dangling jewelry
○ Set up stations (each led by coordinator or garden manager)
■ Harvesting
● Mention double bucket system
● Species harvesting
● Keep buckets in shade
● Show which produce should be harvested
■ Dehydrator (in kitchen)
● Show where first aid kit is
● Show where scale is
● Show were labeled map is
● Show where QR codes are
● Point out where harvesting buckets/tools would be
● Do a demonstration
○ Wash herbs and dry with salad spinner
○ Have them set up a dehydrating tray
■ Packaging of dehydrated herbs (in classroom if possible)

○ Make sure to explain this needs to be done
