Hey!

The Slow Knife is a wonderful game to play in person, using your craft to create a
board together of scrawled notes and twine. But of course, most of the play is
likely to be online, and there are many benefits to that too (not least of all,
cleanup!)

However, The Slow Knife is not a 'traditional' dice & maps RPG, well served by
platforms like Roll20 or Foundry. Instead, I've created a virtual tabletop in a
productivity tool called Miro. If you're down with the indie RPG scene you might've
seen others use this platform for games before, otherwise it might seem a little
strange!

But trust me. It's great.

Basically you've got a big scrollable 'board' with all of the game's content. I've
tried to make the experience as similar as possible to playing at a real table,
while also taking advantage of the unique benefits of playing online (such as
having a mood board that you can freely drag images into for reference). Unless you
pay for it (which I don't recommend for this alone), you won't be able to do video
conferencing within Miro so you'll need an alternative solution (e.g. Discord,
Zoom).

I've created one for each of the playsets, and one more for those of you making
your own setting with the Prelude. You don't need to pay anything to access the
boards, though you will need to sign up to Miro to create your own editable
version. Follow the link below and use the password 'revenant' to access each of
the boards.

You'll then be able to click the board's title in the top left to duplicate it and
create an editable version for your game. There's a presentation to follow (who
doesn't want more presentations in their game nights?) which will guide you through
setup, though you'll still need to have someone familiar with the rules to guide
you through play.

You could, instead, take the plain-text files and put them into a VTT of your
choice, but I think you'll have a better time with Miro.
