Mrs, Annie Edwards,
Route 1, Box 223,
Savanah, Georgia,
Dear ars. Edwards:
On September 1, 1955, I wrote you that the Board of
Education wishes to acquire Lots 4 ~ 7 inclusive in Sweatts Sub-
division of Springfield Plantation and is willing to pay for the
property and improvements the value already fixed by the Sav-
Heal Estate Soard. Phe matter vent no further because
the sewerage a facilities were not sa
tory.
The Board now has a contract with Garden City to supply
sewerage and water facilities to the site and we, therefore,
wish to proceed with the purchase of th
property,
the Chatham County records indicate that you own or
may own or have an interest in a part of those lots, but the
records are not clear, and I will be very mech obliged if you
will make a:
appointment with sir, James |. Findley at this of-
fice (26 hast 2ryan Street, telephone 2-3166) to see if the
matter cannot be straightened out. I am ready to offer to pay
the assessed valuation to whoever is the real owner of the pro-
perty and can give us a fee simple warranty deedMrs. Annie Edwards ae March 22, 1956
ZI hope you will attend to this promptly because, if
the real owner cannot be ascertained in this matter, there
will be nothing for the Board to do but condemn the property.
Yours very truly,
Sk,
Counsel for
The Board of Publie Education
