borders:
borders can be used to define spaces as well as people, and they are set up to define places that
are safe or unsafe and distinguish us from them- this describes the foundation of discrimination,
if you start separating things or people

the black freedom struggle is linked to the diverse groups in the country

people don’t question the legitimacy of borders

challenging borders becomes unnoticed

it is an imaginary line that separates “us from them”, its about what makes me different from
you, not physical border like on mexico, creates clashes between groups

not only the borders that they mention in the article, there are also borders on gender, class,
sexuality. in many places, there are so many safe spaces for these diverse groups.
