Overview of Pradhan Mantri Anusuchit Jaati Abhuyday Yojana

Pradhan Mantri Anusuchit Jaati Abhuyday Yojana (PM- AJAY) is a merged scheme of Centrally
Sponsored Scheme implemented since 2021-2022 with an aim to reduce poverty of the
Scheduled Caste (SC) community.The 3 scheme were,
Pradhan Mantri Adarsh Gram Yojana (PMAGY)
Special Central Assistance to Scheduled Castes Sub Plan ( SCA to SCSP)
Babu Jagjivan Ram Chhatrawas Yojana(BJRCY).
The scheme is implemented through the Department of Social Justice and Empowerment
under the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment(MoSJ&E).

RCS-UDAN Scheme Successful Completes 6th Year in 2023

The Regional Connectivity Scheme (RCS) - UDAN (Ude Desh Ka Aam Nagrik i.e. let the

underserved regions of India, completes 6th year in 2023.

The RCS-UDAN scheme was launched as part of the National Civil Aviation Policy (NCAP)
2016 by the Ministry of Civil Aviation (MoCA) on October 21, 2016, with a 10-year vision.
 The first RCS-UDAN flight was inaugurated by Prime Minister (PM) Narendra Modi on 27th
April 2017, connecting Shimla(Himachal Pradesh) to Delhi.

Assam CM launched Mukhya Mantri Lok Sevak Arogya Yojana for Medical Bill
Reimbursement
On 2 October 2023, on the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti, Assam Chief Minister
(CM) Himanta Biswa Sarma launched the Ayushman Asom: Mukhya
Mantri Lok Sevak Arogya Yojana, an online medical bill reimbursement scheme for the
Government of Assam's employees, pensioners and their dependents, at the event held in
Sankardev Kalakshetra International Auditorium in Guwahati, Assam.

HP CM Launched Sukh Ashraya Yojana for Orphans and Other Vulnerable Sections of
Society
Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister (CM) Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu launched the
Mukhyamantri Sukh Ashraya Yojana
comprehensive support to orphans, specially-abled children, destitute women, and elderly
individuals in Himachal Pradesh.
With this scheme, Himachal Pradesh became the first state in India to enact a law aimed at
supporting orphan children and other vulnerable sections of society.

Odisha CM Naveen Patnaik launched LAccMI bus service scheme in Malkangiri district
Odisha Chief Minister(CM) Naveen Patnaik launched the Location Accessible Multimodal
Initiative (LAccMI) Yojana in Malkangiri district of Odisha. The LAccMI scheme aims to offer
reliable and affordable public transit (bus service) throughout Odisha, with a focus on rural
areas.
LAccMI is a public transportation system connecting gram panchayats to Bhuvaneshwar,
the capital of Odisha.

TN Govt Announces a New Samadhan Scheme for Traders to Settle Commercial Tax
Dues of Rs. 25,000 Crore
Tamil Nadu (TN) government announced a new Tax Arrears Conciliation Scheme (Samadhan
scheme) with waivers and concessions aimed at facilitating the settlement of the pending tax
dues of about Rs.25,000 crore, of which a majority are under the erstwhile Tamil Nadu Value
Added Tax (VAT) and other legacy tax legislations.
This initiative aims to address and resolve long-standing issues related to pending tax
arrears, disputes, and appeals that have persisted between traders and the State
Commercial Tax Department.
 The scheme will be in force between October 16, 2023, and February 15, 2024.

Free Ration Scheme PMGKAY will be extended till 2028
Prime Minister(PM) Narendra Modi announced the extension of the Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan
Anna Yojana(PMGKAY) for another five years while addressing an election rally at Durg in
Chhattisgarh.The scheme which was supposed to be ended by December 2023 will be ending in 2028.
The scheme was initially rolled out in 2020 during the COVID-19 pandemic.
PMGKAY is operated by the Department of Food and Public Distribution under the Ministry of
Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution.

Finance Ministry Notified 7 Changes in Senior Citizens Savings Scheme Rules

On 7th November 2023, Department of Economic Affairs(DEA), under the Ministry of Finance, notified
7 changes in Senior Citizens Savings Scheme(SCSS), a government-sponsored savings instrument for
individuals aged 60 years or employees aged 55 years or more but less than 60 years.
Extended Time for Investing Retirement Benefits: The government has provided 3 months to
invest in SCSS for individuals aged above 55 but below 60. At present, the investment must be
made within 1 month of receipt of retirement benefits.
Deduction on premature withdrawal: 1% of the deposit will be deducted if the account is closed
before the expiry of 1 year of the investment.
Maximum Deposit Amount: The maximum deposit limit for SCSS has been enhanced to Rs 30
lakh from Rs 15 lakh with effective from 1st April 2023.

The Jharkhand Cabinet led by Chief Minister(CM Abua Awas Yojna
(AAY), a state-supported housing scheme for the poor to build 8 lakhs pucca houses for the homeless
in Jharkhand in 3 phases at a total budget of Rs 16,320 crore.

Jharkhand Cabinet Approves Rs 1,485cr Electrification Scheme

Jharkhand Cabinet chaired by Chief Minister(CM) Hemant Soren approved a new electrification scheme
Mukhya Mantri Ujjwal Jharkhand Yojana
The scheme aims to provide electricity facilities to un-electrified rural hamlets and households, as
well as leftover urban areas.
The cabinet has allocated Rs 1,485.39 crore for this scheme.

Union MSME Minister Narayan Rane Launched 3 Sub-schemes under RAMP Programme
On 20th December 2023, Union Minister Narayan Rane, Ministry of Micro, Small & Medium
Enterprises(MoMSME), launched three sub-schemes under the aegis of the Raising and
Accelerating MSME Performance (RAMP) programme.
The 3 sub schemes are:
MSME Green Investment and Financing for Transformation Scheme (MSME GIFT
Scheme).
MSE Scheme for Promotion and Investment in Circular Economy (MSE SPICE Scheme).
MSE Scheme on Online Dispute Resolution for Delayed Payments (MSE ODR scheme).

Odisha CM Naveen Patnaik Launched 3rd phase of BSKY Health Scheme

Odisha Chief Minister (CM) Naveen Patnaik launched the 3rd phase of its flagship universal
health coverage scheme, Biju Swasthya Kalyan Yojana (BSKY), covering nearly 90% of the
population of Odisha.
Note: In the 1st phase of the BSKY launched in 2018, all services in public health facilities
were made free of cost for all persons, irrespective of income or residence.

Himachal Govt Initiates Rajiv Gandhi Swarozgaar Yojna to Promote Self-Employment

Government of Himachal Pradesh (HP) has initiated the Rajiv Gandhi Swarozgaar Yojna-
2023 (RGSY), with an outlay of Rs 680 crore, to generate self-employment opportunities and
promote entrepreneurship among local youth.
The RGSY will ensure guaranteed livelihoods for the youth and helps HP reduce vehicular
