Why Protect Electrical Cabinets?
• 13% of non-home structure fires are due to electrical distribution and components
• 21% of property damage are due is the reason of electrical fire.
Cause of Fire
NFPA:
National electrical code 2014-Automatic suppression systems shall be fitted at source of power.
NBC 2016
Electrical MV main distribution panel and lift panels shall be provided with CO2/Inert gas/clean
gas flooding system for all panel compartments with a cylinder located beside the panel.
The Solution
MaiTech system uses the detection & suppression tubing which is installed throughout the
enclosure and connected to the cylinder value. The tubing is then charged with nitrogen to
pressurize it hold back the extinguishant in the cylinder.
The system uses heat-sensitive pneumatic polymer tubing that reliably detects and actuates
release of the extinguishing agent using pneumatic technology. Multiple temperature rated
tubing options (110 or 180 degree Celsius) allow for protection of a variety of hazards and
equipment. Optional dual outlet valves allow for more versatility to protect larger hazards than
a single valve system.
