Quran chapter 15 Stony land with a new English translation

Translated, written and read by: Sinead Brick Hassen

These are the signs of a book and a clear reader. The disbelievers will regret that
they did not submit. Let them eat and enjoy being deceived by hope until they get
to know it. And not a single settlement has been destroyed so far: unless it has
already been specifically determined in the book, so: no community can hasten it,
nor can it postpone. - And they say, "about whom it is revealed: you are crazy,
because why don't you bring angels if you are honest?" - Angels are not sent except
with the truth, and then they would not be delayed, and a reminder is announced to
them which is guarded. And it was also revealed even earlier among the ancient
sects, to which no messenger came without their insulting them, because in such a
way he enters the hearts of sinners. They will not believe in him despite the
examples from before. And if the gates of heavens were opened for them and they
temporarily entered, they would say: "our eyes are amazed, on the contrary, we are
a people bewitched." - He placed the constellations in the heavens, beautifying
them for the observers and protects them from the cursed devils, and if they
eavesdrop, in that case they are shot with an obvious flame.

And he spread out the earth and placed strong mountains on it. He arranged so that
everything grows proportionally on it. And he gives you everything you need to
survive and you are not the providers of it. And there is nothing that he does not
own and sends to you except in a certain measure. And He sends the wind with which
he pollinates and then sends down rain from the sky which is for your drink and
which you do not store. And he gives life and death and is the heir. And he knows
your ancestors and he knows those who will come after you. And the lord will gather
them all, because he is wise and knows. And he made men out of pottery molded clay.
And he created the demons even before from the fire's flame.

And when the lord said to the angels: "I will create a mortal man from pottery
molded clay. And when I give him the form and blow my spirit into him: you bow to
him." And all the angels bowed together, except Iblis who refused to bow. He said,
"O Iblis, why did you not bow?" - He said, "it is not fitting for me to bow to a
mortal whom you created from pottery molded clay." - He said, "Leave from here
driven out and you are cursed until the day of judgment." - He said, "lord, grant
me a delay until they are raised." - He said, "you have been postponed until the
day already appointed." - He said, "lord, because I went astray, I will also make
them beautiful on earth and lead them all astray, except your honest servants." -
He said, "this is the path of my righteousness: you will not have any authority
over my servants, except for those who follow you from the lost, and hell is the
promised place for you all together, where there will be seven gates: for each
group a separate gate. And the careful ones will be in paradise among the springs:
"enter in peace secure." And malice will be removed from their breasts, so that
they will be together good companions sitting on couches facing each other. They
will not get tired there and will not be driven out of it. Inform my servants that:
"I forgive and I am merciful, but my punishment is painful punishment."

And inform them about Abraham's guests, when they came to him and said, "Peace." -
He said, "we were afraid of you." - They said, "don't be afraid because we bring
you good news about boy the knower." - He said, "Are you going to make me happy in
my old age, and how will that make me happy?" - They said, "you will be truly
happy, so don't be desperate." - They said, "and who despairs of the lord's mercy
except the deluded ones?" - He said, "and what is your assignment about o
messengers?" - They said, "We are sent to a sinful people, except for Lut's
followers, who we will all be saved together, except for his wife, because it was
determined that she will be left behind." - And when the messengers came to Lut and
his followers, he said: "You are some unknown people." - They said, "on the
contrary, we have come regarding what they are arguing about. We have come with the
truth and we are sincere. Take your followers in the quiet of the night, and you
follow them behind and do not let any of you turn back and go forward where you are
commanded." - And the decree was announced to him that the root of these will be
cut off at dawn. - And the joyful citizens approached them. - And he said to them,
"these are my guests and do not embarrass me in front of them, be careful of God
and do not shame me." - They said, "Didn't we forbid the world from coming to you?"
- He said, "here are my daughters if you are up to something" - while they were
wandering around drunk. And an earthquake struck them at dawn, so that everything
was turned upside down and a rain of certain stones fell on them. In these are the
signs for people exploring as they are still next to a busy road. In this is a sign
for believers.

The settlers of the thicket were also sinners and that is why they were destroyed.
They are also located next to a busy road. And so the inhabitants of the stony land
also rejected their messengers, despite the signs that had been revealed to them
from which they had turned away. And they carved houses in the mountains thinking
they were safe, but an earthquake struck them at dawn, and what they had amassed
from their possessions did not help them. And neither the heavens nor the earth and
what is between them were created, except with the truth. And the hour is
inevitable, and therefore pardon them: with a gentle pardon, because the Lord is
the creator and knows. And seven repeating quotes and a large reader were published
to you. Do not direct your gaze towards what they have been given to enjoy - do not
grieve for them and be kind to the believers. And say, "I remind you clearly." As
it was declared to the dividers, to those who divide the book into numbers, and
whom the lord will question as to what they have done. Therefore, declare openly
what you have been commanded to do and turn away from the associators. You will be
helped in regard to the insulters: from those who beside God set up other gods,
because of that they will get to know the consequences from it. And I know that
what they say pressure's on your chest - so praise the Lord and bow to him. And
serve the lord until what is certain comes.
