MOST CRITICAL HEALTH CONCERNS OF THE 21st CENTURY

There are multiple health concerns that we are facing in 21st century. One of the most important is
premature mortality, which we are still facing in the present world. Besides the deadly infectious
diseases like malaria, TB, Typhoid, respiratory and diarrheal diseases which constitute a large number of
mortality in developing nations, malnutrition is also a threat to humanity. Thirdly most important
challenge to the 21st century is the climate change because our health is closely related to
environmental changes and is affected by our availability to water, climate change and temperature.
Pollution still remains a continuous danger globally. We cant overlook epidemics and pandemics that
are not only a main reason of worldwide mortality but they also disrupt economies, geopolitics, security
etc. Still, non-communicable diseases and mental illnesses cause massive ill health and compromise
human and economic development globally as they disproportionately affect populations in low and
middle income countries. Antibiotics resistance becoming a major health concern, resulted because of
massive increase in their use of antibiotics causing a global decline in their effectiveness.
