Street robbery
A Peterborough man was arrested following a reported street robbery on Sunday afternoon. The
incident, which occurred in the area of Park and Sherbrooke streets, involved two individuals
known to each other. One of them allegedly threatened the other with a weapon and stole their
property. The suspect, identified as Clayton Anness, 36, was located a short distance away and
resisted arrest until a second officer arrived to assist. Anness has been charged with robbery with
a weapon, uttering death threats, resisting a peace officer, and failure to comply with a probation
order.

b. Police seek suspect after ‘new home’ robbery in Guelph, Ont.


It was not the kind of welcome a Guelph, Ont., man who had recently moved into his home had
in mind.
Guelph Police Service were called to a home in the Franklin Boulevard and Mary Street area
early Saturday morning about an assault and robbery.
Investigators say a man was in his main floor bedroom when someone broke into the home and
struck the victim in the head with a flashlight.
They say officers arrived to find the victim — who had been in the residence less than a week —
with a gash to his head.
He was taken to hospital for treatment.

c. 7 held for car theft in Bulacan


Police in Bulacan successfully apprehended a group of suspects, including the driver of a
Muntinlupa City businessman and six accomplices, for allegedly stealing a Toyota Fortuner. The
theft occurred during a hot pursuit operation in San Miguel town. Led by Police Col. Lawrence
Cajipe, the authorities arrested Christian Golez, Marlon Reyes, Jephreil Pulpulaan, Jayson
Tiangco, Kevin Sabido, Charmaine Bilagat, and Christopher Sarmiento in Barangay Salacot. The
stolen vehicle, registered to Jiade Wang, went missing while parked in front of Wang’s house and
was reported to Muntinlupa City police the next day. The police successfully tracked the suspects
using a tracking device installed in the stolen vehicle, leading to their surrender when cornered in
Barangay Salacot.

d. A man has been arrested following an armed commercial robbery crime spree between
Jan 30 and Tuesday, Feb 14, Winnipeg police.
Winnipeg police have arrested a man suspected of carrying out an armed commercial robbery
spree spanning from January 30 to February 14. During this 15-day period, five businesses were
targeted, including four gas stations and one restaurant located in various blocks across the city.
In many instances, the suspect was armed with a knife and demanded money and products, while
in others, he only mentioned having a weapon or was unsuccessful in his attempts. The robberies
occurred in the evening, and it is believed that the suspect used a stolen vehicle during the
crimes. Following the latest robbery on Tuesday, officers spotted the alleged stolen vehicle being
driven nearby, leading to the man’s arrest.
e. Mastermind in Valenzuela payroll robbery-slay killed in Batangas shootout
The principal suspect behind the robbery and murder of a company messenger in Valenzuela
City, identified as Anthony Glua Cubos, was killed in a shootout with police authorities in
Batangas. Cubos, an AWOL police officer dismissed in 2019, was implicated as the mastermind
in the October 2020 robbery and killing of Nino Luegi Hernando, who was carrying company
payroll amounting to P442,714. Cubos was also allegedly involved in other criminal activities
such as kidnapping, robbery, extortion, and drug trafficking. During the encounter, Cubos
reportedly engaged in gunfire with arresting officers, resulting in his death. Three other suspects
have been arrested, while two remain at-large. Police assure the victim's family that justice will
be served as manhunt operations continue.

f. Robbers take P62M from BPI armored van in Manila


P6.2M stolen from armored vehicle in seconds – security escort MANILA —It only took
seconds for robbers to steal P6.2 million from the crew members of an armored vehicle, who
were about to reload an ATM booth, on Remedios street in Ermita early Monday.
None of the three crew members, which included a security escort armed with a shotgun and a
9mm, a teller technician, and a driver, could say if the robbers used high powered firearms or
where and how the robbers escaped.

g. One man arrested for attempted armed robbery of Indiana casino


A man was arrested for the attempted armed robbery of the Hollywood Casino and Hotel in
Lawrenceburg, Indiana. Police responded to the scene between 7:30 and 8:00 p.m., and after
setting up a perimeter around the casino, the suspect fled. He was tracked by a police drone and
helicopter and eventually arrested near the Oxbow Nature Preserve around 9:30 p.m. At least one
person was injured during the incident, though details about the injury remain unknown. The
Indiana Gaming Commission is investigating the cause of the incident and whether anyone else
was involved. Witnesses reported officers from Indiana, Ohio, and Kentucky responding to the
area, as the casino sits at the border of these three states.
