THE FILING OF THE RIZAL BILL
In 1956 - Ramon Magsaysay ang current
president nung ipinapasa ang rizal law.
Dahilan kung bakit minandate ang Rizal law -
nakakalimutan na kung san nanggaling o
nakakalimutan na ang pagiging filipino inshort
nawawala na ang SENSE OF PATRIOTISM
April 3, 1956 - Claro submitted a bill sa senate
of committee of education.

JOSE P. LAUREL - Layunin kung bakit
ipinalathala ang bill - upang maipalaganap ang
mga ideas ni Jose Rizal
PROBLEM? - Tumutol ang Catholic Church
Reason: The opposition was mostly due to the
anti-clericalism in Rizal's books Noli Me
Tangere and El Filibusterismo or anti-catholic
daw yung works ni Rizal lalo na yung dalawang
book claiming that it would VIOLATE FREEDOM
OF CONSCIENCE AND RELIGION.
FATHER JESUS CAVANNA - isa sa mga
pari/priest na tumutol sa rizal law.
May 12, 1956 - Laurel accomodated the
objections of the Catholic Church which was
approved unanimously. Meaning naitawid at
naipasa ang bill.
tinawag na na R.A 1425 or the Rizal Law
REPUPLIC ACT. 1425
An act to include in the Curricula of all public
and Private schools, colleges and universities
courses on the life, works and writings of Jose
Rizal, particularly his novels noli me tangere
and el filibusterismo, authorizing the printing
and distribution thereof, and for other purpose.
Dapat yung binabasa or inaaral ng mga colleges
and universities ngayon e yung
UNEXPURGATED VERSION - original copy and
walang censored.
6 SECTION OF R.A 1425
Section 1 - Kailangan masama sa Curricula yung
mga works ni Rizal, especially yung Noli and El
Fili and it should be translated in english.
Provided din na original and unexpurgated
yung copy.
Section 2 - obligado yung mga school colleges
to have adequate copies meaning dapat may
sapat na copies (unexpurgated) ang mga
universities ng mga works ni rizal (noli, fili and
his other works).
Section 3 - Board of National Education dapat
ang magtranslate ng works ni Rizal and the
Distribution must be free of charge.
Section 4 - Prohibited ang pagtuturo ng
Religious Doctrines by Teachers and other
person na nagtuturo ng rizal course.
Section 5 - 300 thousand pesos ang budget sa
RA 1425.
Section 6 - This act shall take effect upon its
approval.
