Health and Safety Management Principles

1. Safety is the priority and zero accident is our target. These key principles also
drive the local policy that must be in place at every AGRANA Group site.

2. Safety objectives are part of strategy, budget and project planning.

3. Everybody has to respect and live the Golden Safety Rules and Life Saving
Rules.

4. The Management acts as a role model and actively participates in safety


programs.

5. Competency, training and awareness programs are developed and


implemented.

6. Adequate and regular communication to and involvement of all affected parties


is required.

7. Applicable legal requirements are identified & compliance is ensured.

8. Emergency preparedness is ensured and response plans are available.

9. A safety management system is in place. Objectives and targets, which are


supported by action plans and checked by standardized safety audits, are
established.

10. All components of the safety pyramid are reported, analyzed, and corrective
actions are implemented.

11. Clear safety roles, responsibilities, accountabilities and authority are defined for
every AGRANA Group site including:

a. We start every meeting with a Safety moment


b. Safety officer is in place
c. Safety committee is in place
d. Individual job descriptions include safety for all employees and safety objectives as
relevant to the position
e. Resources are provided
f. Repeated unsafe behavior is investigated and followed by relevant disciplinary action
including contract termination at any level in the company

RESPECT

 I follow the rules, and I lead by example.


 I walk on the right path and wear my PPE where it is required.
 I am responsible for a safe and clean workplace.

AWARENESS

 I pay attention to other people’s safety.


 I stay alert and respect safety warnings.
 I say „STOP“ if needed when the safety situation requires it.

COMMITMENT

 I think first and then consciously act safely.


 I contribute and motivate my coworkers to improve safety.
 I report incidents and encourage others to do so.
