Sanction is hereby accorded to the registration of the vehicles
older than 15 years of age, in the UT of i&K in general and twin capital cities
of Jammu and Srinagar itr particu"lar subiect to the r*alization of road/token
tax applicable to different categories of vehicles undei' the explicit provisions
of Jammu and Kashmir Motor Vehicle Taxation Act, 1957 and SROs/S.Os
issued by the Government from time to time, in following manner:-

a) To begin with, all cornmercial vehicles shail be phased out after

20 years in non-attainment cities i.e. Jammu and Srinagar.
b) All commercial vehicles in other areas shail be phased out after
25 years as per current norms of fitness certificates every six
months as per orders of Hon'ble High court after its initial
period.
c) All private prersonal vehicles shall be allowed to pry as per
fitness certificates.
