Amin Carrillo

He was born in Santa Marta, Colombia. He started his piano studies at the
Mikrokosmos Music Academy under the tutelage of Carlos Avendaño Miranda. In
2006, he obtained the second prize in the Assa Music Awards, in Barranquilla. In
2008 he moved to Bogotá and studied in the INCCA University of Colombia
where he studied with professor Andrés Linero. In 2010, won first place in the
International Piano Festival of Bogotá. In 2013, he won first place in the National
Piano Competition UIS.

He has also participated in the Cartagena International Music Festival in 2011;


Bogotá (first prize) International Piano Festival in 2010; National Piano Festival.
He worked as a pianist with Choir 'Canta Bogotá Canta', and the Preparatory
Choir and from the Symphonic Choir of the University
of the Andes, as well.
Amin Carrillo has given recitals at the most important Concert Halls in Colombia.
He has played in Masterclasses with renowned pianists such as Frederic Chiu,
Angela Cheng, Jiri Levicek, Sara Doan, Eva Polgar,
Katia Mitchell and Blanca Uribe.

He is currently pursuing his MM in collaborative piano at Carnegie Mellon


University. He was born in Santa Marta, Colombia. He moved to Pittsburgh in
2021 and graduated from AMS in Collaborative Piano at CMU. During the AMS,
Amin studied with professors Luz Manriquez, Dimitri Papaditmriou, Frederic Chiu
and Jocelyn Dueck. During his first year of Masters he studied with Prof Sung I’m
Kim and during his second year currently studying with professor Rodrigo Ojeda.
