Good morning, everybody.

Today, we will discuss important updates to our "Hazardous Materials Management and Waste Disposal"
procedures, which address our waste management practices and compliance with environmental regulations.

As you know, the proper management and disposal of hazardous materials, such as paint, solvents and metal
shavings, is essential to protect our environment and ensure regulatory compliance. To address the identified
non-compliances and improve our waste management practices, we have made the following changes:

1. We have established a Hazardous Waste Management Committee, consisting of representatives from

various departments, including welding, fabrication, painting, environmental compliance and safety.
This committee will oversee and coordinate our waste management efforts.
2. We have implemented a comprehensive waste segregation and labeling system, ensuring proper
segregation of hazardous materials based on their nature and compatibility. It is important to follow
these guidelines to avoid potential harmful reactions or environmental contamination.
3. Designated storage areas for hazardous waste have been established, equipped with secondary
containment systems, such as spill pallets and berms, to prevent leaks and spills from reaching the
environment.
4. Mandatory training on proper waste management practices, including segregation, labeling, storage
and disposal, will be provided to all workers handling hazardous materials.
5. We have developed waste disposal schedules and procedures, ensuring compliance with
environmental regulations and proper hazardous waste disposal through a licensed waste
management contractor.
6. Periodic inspections and audits of waste storage areas, disposal records, and contractor compliance
will be conducted to ensure compliance with updated procedures.
7. Comprehensive documentation and record keeping of waste management activities, including waste
manifests and disposal certificates, will be maintained for compliance purposes.

We understand that these changes may require some adjustments in your daily routines, but they are
essential for protecting our environment, ensuring regulatory compliance, and maintaining a safe and
sustainable workplace.

Training sessions will be conducted over the next two weeks to provide you with detailed information on the
updated waste management procedures, and we welcome your feedback and suggestions.

Please let me or your supervisor know if you have any questions or concerns. Your commitment to proper
waste management practices is crucial, and we appreciate your cooperation in ensuring our compliance and
environmental responsibility.
