1. A company has 8 acres of land where it can plant wheat and barley. It can earn 50,000 for
every acre planted with wheat and 30,000 for every acre they plant with barley. Wheat
requires 20 liters of pesticide for every acre planted and barley requires 10 liters per
acre. The use of the pesticide is limited by government regulations to 100 liters for the
entire 8 acres. What is the maximum profit that the company can make?
2. A company produces 2 products that are processed on two assembly lines. Assembly line
1 has 100 available hours and assembly line 2 has 24 available hours. Each product
requires 10 hours of processing time on line 1. On line 2, product 1 requires 2 hours and
product 2 requires 3 hours. The profit for product 1 is Rs 6 per unit and that of product 2
is Rs 4 per unit. What is the optimal product mix?
