The approriate authority can’t require everyone to wisely distinguish Vietnamese

products from low-quality Chinese ones.

The smuggled foods from China are still on the nationwide market. The Ministry
of Agriculture and Rural Development (NN-PTNT) assumed that there needs to be
a collaboration between various ministries, agencies and positive role of consumer
to gain the safe food supply.
Mr. Vu Van Tam, the Deputy Minister of (NN-PTNT) stated that smuggling food
from China adversely affected on the national production. However, the Veterinary
agency participated in inspecting … only when there was a pandemic. Otherwise,
there would be no law permitting the veterinary authority to inspect the supply.
Mr.Tam asserted about the role of agricultural inspector in controlling the market
food that the NN-PTNT had assigned the local authorities to monitor food safety.
Therefore, the local authorities will be in charge of the inspection. According to
Mr.Tam, the prerequisite is whether the local authorities take on the role. If the
relevant authorities don’t undertake the task, and the consumers don’t denounce
the poor-quality products, the quality control will be barely effective
Ha Noi Department of Commerce stated that requisite for preventing smuggling is
making the competent force transparent. If the anti-smuggling force is not
transparent, it means that we don’t control the border as well as thousands of
domestic small traders. Mr Phu gave the reason why Chinese smuggling products
are spreading over our country is that the domestic products can’t compete with the
dirt cheap Chinese ones. The other reason is that the majority of our people are still
poor, which means they prefer to consume the dirt cheap food and agricultural
products.
