Jam Tarts

(Makes 12 little ones, or 1 large)

Ingredients

Pastry
200g plain Flour
100g hard margarine
6 tbsp water

Filling
12 tsp jam (any flavour you like)

If you have a flan tin please bring that in for a large jam tart, and
remember a large container to take it home in.

Method

1. Turn the oven onto 200°C / Gas Mark 6 and lightly grease
the flan tin or a cup cake tin

2. Make the pastry, first sieve the flour into a glass bowl

3. Add the hard margarine into the flour and rub in using your
fingertips until this mix resembles fine breadcrumbs

4. Add 4 tbsp of cold water into the bowl. Bring together into a
ball. If the pastry is too dry add a couple more tbsp. of cold
water. Do this stage carefully.

5. Lightly flour the table. Roll out pastry and line your tart tin
with the pastry. If you are making mini jam tarts, use a
pastry cutter and line a cup cake tray.

6. Add approx. 1 tsp of jam to each pastry case.

7. Place in the oven for 12 – 15 mins

8. Remove from the oven and leave to cool. The jam will be
piping hot, so be careful.
