ACKNOWLEDGEMENT

The internship opportunity I had with Adv. Pavan Kumar Mishra was a great chance for
learning and professional development. Therefore, I consider myself as a lucky individual as
I was provided with an opportunity to be a part of it. I am also grateful for having a chance to
meet so many wonderful people and professionals who led me through this internship period.

Bearing in mind previously I am using this opportunity to express my deepest gratitude and
special thanks to our mentor, for taking part in useful decisions & giving necessary advice
and guidance. I choose this moment to acknowledge his contribution gratefully. I perceive
this opportunity as a milestone in my career development. I will strive to use the gained skills
and knowledge in the best possible way, and I will continue to work on their improvement, in
order to attain the desired career objective.

Deepika Yadav
INTRODUCTION

I have pursued my internship in the office of Adv. Pavan Kumar Mishra and did extensive
research work on various propositions and have carried out all the tasks assigned and have
also appeared in the Court cases along Adv. Pavan Kumar Mishra, District Courts, Etawah,
where the cases were listed. I made the follow up of the cases and noted the proceedings of
the cases under their supervision.

From 12 February August to 15th March, 2024, I had the privilege of joining a team of
dedicated leaders, associates and interns during my physical internship. The one-month term
of internship was immensely eye-opening in terms of exposure to legal field. Work
environment was pretty dynamic. One may be assigned with typing and at the same time to
assist the associates in drafting the plaints as well written statements. I have gained a lot of
experience through my internship and have learned a lot of things by the work assigned to me
and I have successfully completed my internship appropriately and efficiently. It was
interesting for me as everything was unpredictable. Every Client comes with a new case, new
situation, and a new problem. About Advocates, I experienced that it is not easy to work as an
advocate, it requires a lot of dedication and hard work, only then you can achieve success,
and most importantly social recognition.

Internships fulfil an important concept for both academic and practical education in law. The
integration of both the aspects helps the student to develop the understanding of law in
actions as you are able to observe and perceive the relevance and application of theory to
practice.

The sole objective of the internship is to expose the law students to a practical world of legal
knowledge which is quite different from books and movies. It gives the insight of the legal
courts which helps the law student to prepare beforehand for their future. On the other hand,
it also portrays compassion, leadership skill and analytical skill that reflect the ethical
standards and conduct of the legal profession.

.
PROFILE OF THE LAWYER

The office of Adv. Pavan Kumar Mishra was situated in Friends Colony Etawah. The office
consists of every necessary bare act, manuals, commentaries, reference books and separate
desk for advocates and interns. The attorneys have excellent skill and experience to give
seamless service and advice to clients on complex matters both in litigation and corporate and
& commercial matters which is worth learning for. The office was full of knowledge where
everyone so polite and interested in giving answers to all your queries. It is pertinent to
mention the quality services and achievement is such a short span is worth learning for a first-
generation law student like me.
MAIN TASKS

1. I was assigned to read a file and learn how files are maintained and learn how to draft
the petitions.

2. Performed research work on relevant case laws, prepared summaries of legal

arguments and assisted in preparation of court rulings.

3. Reading any suggested law related material for my own benefit.

4. Research on the judgement that are related to facts of the case

5. I was assigned to prepare legal snippets on recent legal trends on a regular basis.

6. I was assigned to prepare articles as the topics assigned by them.

7. Assisted in drafting and requests for production of documents.

EXPERIENCE DURING THE INTERNSHIP

The District Court in reality is quite a different place to experience. It can be termed as
people’s court in a true sense.

Every Lawyer maintains a court diary, which proves handy and very useful as all the details
of the case are entered in the diary with proper date and its petition number. It proves to be
useful, as respective cases are recorded by the lawyer date wise and it saves time to think and
search for the cases as per the present date.

It was adventurous for me as everything was unpredictable. Every Client comes with a new
case, new situation, and a new problem. I also experienced the expressions and thoughts of
the Hon’ble Judges. When they are in a good mood, they will tell you how to do things
correctly but if not then they will scold you for the simple mistakes you have made.

About Advocates, I experienced that it is not easy to work as an advocate, it requires a lot of
dedication and hard work, only then you can achieve success, and most importantly social
recognition. I was strictly advised to come in formal dress. Every other lawyer was wearing a
court uniform to appear before the court.
THINGS LEARNED:

 Learn to be punctual.
 Understand the legal system and get first-hand experience of how the court
functions.
 Got acquainted with the functions and responsibilities of an advocate.
 Involved in actual cases and projects improved my reading, drafting and research
skills.
 Oral communication, public speaking and client counselling improved my
communication skills.
 Attending court proceedings improves my listening skills and I am able to learn
how the advocates argue in front of the court.
 Confidence booster.
 Able to learn more about areas of law like Evidence Act, Indian Contract Act,
Sales of Goods Act, Income Tax Act, Goods and Service Tax Act, etc.

CONCLUSION

Overall, my internship was a good experience. I got an opportunity to learn basic and many
new things related to law. I got a deep and inspiring insight in the office work as well as
during court hearings. There are so many things I learned under their guidance and expect to
learn in future as well. Hence, I hope that in future I will get more opportunities to learn more
things. The role of a legal advisor/penal Advocate is very important in the claim and he is
given due regarded and respect in the court. The common language used in the court is Hindi.
I was very comfortable during my internship and it was a very friendly and accommodating
atmosphere.
