Concept
Global Competitiveness
 “Competitiveness” can be defined as the long-term “viability of firm and is also measured by its “market
share” or its “profitability”.
 Competitiveness of a nation in the sense of its aggregate competitive success in all markets
 Distinctive/Core competency are automated production technology, skilled and dedicated workforce, ability to
bring new products in production, talented work force etc.
 Small/Big companies which used to compete on local/regional/national level have now to compete against
other companies throughout the world.
 Only those companies which are able to produce world class quality can compete
 The focus is on best cost and best quality.
