1. In your assessment, what leadership style did your school head commonly use or apply? cite situations and
explain why?
- In my school assessment, the leadership style used by our school head was most commonly known as
the Participative Leadership or Democratic Leadership Style. This style was evidenced by the frequent
involvement of the students and teachers in the decision-making process.
- For example, when the school underwent major renovations, the school head organized various
meetings with the staff members and students to discuss ideas and plans for the renovations. He
solicited input from these stakeholders, gave his own ideas, and then developed a plan that took into
account all the perspectives offered. Even when issues arose, the school head acted as a mediator
between the staff and the students, allowing both parties to reach a consensus.
- In my opinion, the Participative Leadership style was ideally suited for our school. It provided an
environment of inclusion and collaboration that allowed for all opinions to be considered and respected.
It also encouraged student participation and ownership of the decisions that were made. Furthermore,
the school headed demonstrated trust in his staff and students, which created a sense of
trustworthiness and accountability, thus providing an atmosphere of mutual respect.
- the Participative Leadership style was conducive to the success of our school and I feel this was a great
example of leadership.

2. React on this quotation; " Leadership and learning are indispensable to each other." -John F. Kennedy
- The legacy of John F. Kennedy is a testament to his belief that “leadership and learning are indispensable
to each other.” His insightful words, spoken over sixty years ago, remain as pertinent today as they were
then. Leadership is an ever-evolving concept. It requires learning and development over time, and in
order to stay at the top of their game, leaders must be constantly learning and seeking new ways to
grow.
- On the other hand, learning requires great leadership. In order to effectively learn, one must have a
structured plan that sets the direction and helps maintain focus. Leaders are expected to provide
guidance and direction to ensure that the learning process remains on track and meets desired
outcomes.
- When leadership and learning are connected in a synergy of equality, it can result in tremendous
growth, both for individuals and organizations. Leadership can provide learning with the necessary
resources to help it develop, while learning can help shape and refine leadership so that it is better
prepared to deal with challenges. Together, they form an essential partnership that creates
opportunities for positive change.
- The importance of leadership and learning cannot be overstated. It provides a powerful tool that can be
used to improve ourselves, to help our organizations, and to shape our future. If we are to become truly
successful, it is vital that we combine our leadership skills with our ability to learn and to grow. In the
end, as John F. Kennedy said, “Leadership and learning are indispensable to each other.”
3. Having the most cause of both bullying and malnourished learners in the region, being the school head, how
can you strengthen and sustain the programs/ projects?
- As the head of a school in a region with the highest prevalence of bullying and malnourished learners,
there is much that can be done to strengthen and sustain programs and projects to combat them.
- First, it is necessary to thoroughly assess the situation. This can be done by analyzing data on how many
learners are affected, and more importantly, what the root causes of bullying and malnourishment may
be. By determining the underlying issues, more effective and sustainable solutions can be crafted.
- Second, the school must prioritize addressing the pressing issue of bullying. By raising awareness of the
problem and creating a zero-tolerance policy, we can create an environment where it is unacceptable to
either bully or to be bullied. Through creating or strengthening existing anti-bullying clubs and programs,
we should provide young people with the resources and knowledge they need to protect themselves.
- Third, a cafeteria (school canteen) should be opened in the school so that learners can purchase
affordable, healthy meals. Additionally, the cafeteria (school canteen) should offer free meals to
disadvantaged learners who may not otherwise have access. This helps to ensure a healthy start to the
day for all learners, and can help to mitigate malnourishment in the region.
- Fourth, beyond providing food, we should also look to create educational programs which apply the
holistic approach to tackling malnourishment. For instance, we should teach learners both the
importance of nutrition and the skills for them to cook nutritious meals for themselves.
- don't underestimate the power of creating a supportive environment. Through providing learners with
social and emotional resources, we can equip them with the tools they need to confront the issues of
bullying and malnourishment, and also to develop coping strategies which will help them later in life.
- In summary, to combat bullying and malnourishment in our region, we must promote awareness and
create a zero-tolerance policy, open a cafeteria and offer free meals to disadvantaged learners, provide
educational programs applying the holistic approach, and create a supportive environment. With these
measures in place, we can make sure our learners have the best chance of succeeding for many years to
come.
