will be completed during the day in preparation for the night shift where possible.
• Riggers/banks man/flagman and operatives must be visible at all times. It is
important that they have clean hi visibility vests.
• Riggers/banks man/flagman to be issued with appropriately working batton light to
improve their visibility and to allow them to give clear signals to drivers.
• Ensure that the work areas are maintained is a safe condition at all times and that
they are left in a safe condition before shift ends.
• Ensure that all stores are locked when not attended and that keys are removed
from machinery. Under no circumstances, drivers not to leave their machines
unattended with the engine running or the keys in the ignition.
• Ensure an adequate number of first aider available at night.
• Emergency vehicle and driver to be on site at all times during the night shift to
ensure it is readily available in the event of an emergency.
• Emergency numbers to be available for all key personnel.
• Measures to be taken to ensure that plant operators and others can safely exit
work areas at shift ends. Transport buses and vehicles to pick the workers up in
a safe location and transport them to their accommodation.
• Ensure the site is secure prior to leaving.
• Monitor illumination level at activity area including access for at least 53.764Lux.
