Once in a village there was a lady named Mbok Rondo. She lived alone so she really wanted a
child. One night while she was praying, Buto Ijo heard her. He told her he could give her a child,
but when she was 17 he would take her. Mbok Rondo was worried but she agreed. The giant gave
her some cucumber seeds to plant.

Then Mbok Rondo planted the seeds. They grew very fast into big golden cucumbers.
When Mbok Rondo picked one, she found a beautiful baby inside! She named her Timun Mas.

Soon, Timun Mas was almost 17 years old. Mbok Rondo was very sad and she didn't want the
giant to take her daughter away. She told Timun Mas that if the giant came back, she should
