for All, also attended the session along with other o cials of MoHUA.
‘Labharthiyon Se Rubaroo’ has been launched to monitor progress of
projects/houses under the Mission by directly interacting with

Towards the end, the 'Transformative Reforms Towards Housing for All' lays the way forward
which is required to achieve the Hon’ble Prime Minister ‘s vision of ‘Housing for All’.

‘Proceedings of Another booklet comprising of proceedings of 'Awas Par Samvaad' was also released at the
CSMC meeting by Secretary, MoHUA. ‘Awas Par Samvaad’, the rst- of-its-kind initiative in the
Awas Par Samvaad' released urban housing sector, was conducted as an activity under ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’ (AKAM).
Based on the AKAM theme, 75 workshops/seminars/webinars were hosted in different parts of
the country to create awareness and promote discussion, deliberation and dissemination on
'Housing for All' amongst multiple stakeholders. The initiative evinced enthusiastic
participation from several institutions and organisations.

Learnings and take-aways from these 75 workshops have been compiled in the form of a
booklet for students, professionals and urban practitioners to enable them to learn about
government policies/frameworks for future application and implementation of housing
programmes and also give a new perspective in their dealings as professionals.

698 vacant houses in Rajkot converted into ARHCs
In Rajkot, Gujarat, 698 Government-funded vacant houses have been
converted into Affordable Rental Housing Complexes (ARHCs). So far in
Gujarat, 2,467 vacant houses have been converted into ARHCs to
provide ease of living with all basic amenities to people.

ARHCs, a sub-scheme under PMAY(U), is being implemented through 2


models. It offers affordable, rental & digni ed living accommodation
to urban migrants/poor close to their place of work.

Having a pucca house of her own was Smt Sutradhar’s


longest wish, but nancial problems came her way due to
which she thought the dream of having a pucca roof over
her head would remain a dream for her entire life.

The PMAY(U) home came as a blessing for them right on


time as their daughter got married here. “The house has
given a new meaning to our lives. We are happily living in
our pucca house. My daughter got married after we got
this beautiful house constructed. Earlier, due to the
condition of our old house, no good alliance came for her,”
Smt Sutradhar expresses. She adds that the family’s status
in society has also increased after they got a pucca house.
Smt Mina Sutradhar’s house has all basic amenities like
water, kitchen, toilet, electricity and gas connection.
