Welcome to The Cool Connection. Before you and your teammates save The Cool Connection
from certain ruin, we would like to explain the supply chain of The Cool Connection.

Customers and products

The Cool Connection is a personal care products manufacturer. The product portfolio of The
Cool Connection includes shampoo, conditioner and all purpose crème, either packed in a bottle
or a jar. The Cool Connection delivers its products to a variety of customers, located all over the
world. The Cool Connection delivers its customers from stock. The delivery is sent the day after
the customer places an order.

Product storage
The Cool Connection’s products are stored on pallets in the finished goods warehouse. The
products remain there until delivery is made.

Production process
The Cool Connection manufactures all its products itself. The raw materials are mixed in a mixer
and immediately after, bottled on a bottling line. The mixers and bottling lines are part of The
Cool Connection’s equipment. The bottling line is used to fill both bottles and jars.

Components
An extensive bill of materials lists what quantity of which component is used in a finished prod-
uct. Components include packaging material (bottle, jar), preservatives, foam (Texapon),

additives (Liposome), perfume and water. The formula has been one of the most closely-guard-
ed secrets of The Cool Connection.

Suppliers
Components are purchased from suppliers. Both local and global suppliers can be a candidate to
supply these components to The Cool Connection. Each supplier has its own characteristics in
terms of e.g., price, shipping time and reliability.

Component storage
The components that are delivered to The Cool Connection cannot always be immediately used
in production, that is why the company has a raw materials warehouse to store them. Packaging
material is delivered on pallets and stored in this raw materials warehouse. The warehouse also
holds raw materials, if it is delivered in drums or IBCs (Intermediate Bulk Containers of 1000
Liter) . The raw material that arrives in tank trucks is pumped into a tank yard.
