Hello everyone, today I'll talk about my city which is Abrantes

It has a population of 34 351 according to the Censos of 2021, and 13 Parishes,


Abrantes, is along the banks of the Tagus River. It also has a rich past dating back
to prehistoric times, with notable Roman and Moorish influences.

A very knowned tradition in abrantes is the Saint Matias Fair, usually between
February and March, it’s an important mark in Abrantes bussiness. It has various
rides the most famous being the ferris wheel.

About the Culture in Abrantes one of the most knowned dances is the folklore
Ranch. The costumes are an essential part of the performance usually adorned with
embroidery and lace. In addition to the entertaining, they also play an important
role in preserving rural culture. And it also Allow ancient traditions to be passed on
to younger generations.

About the Patrimony I brought 3 must visits in Abrantes

Castle of abrantes:
Built in 1250 during que Reconquista It was the lair of D.Afonso Henriques,
its also a medieval fortress with a defensive architecture.
Has witnessed various historical events such as the peninsular war and the
independence war.

Mourões:
Built between 1809 and 1811 with the main purpose of being a bridge. Are
also the remains of a Roman fortification and represents the Roman
presence in the Region this is also a silence witness of the past.

MIAA:
It was Inaugurated in 2021 has Won the Museum Of The Year in 2023 the
main goal is to preserve and display Iberian works of art and it offers a
different sight of the region to the visitors
