Study Skills 5: Taking Tests

1) What’s my present situation?

My present situation here is that when I study I know what I am studying, and I understand what I am
doing, reading. I remember what I everything, but when it come to me doing a test my brain blanks out
because it’s like everything I studied went away. When finally, I am done and over with the test then
that’s when it comes that I will remember and then I start to struggle with that.

2) How would I like my situation to be?

The way I would like this to be is by me getting everything in my head answer the questions, and just do
the easy questions then the mid questions, then lastly the hardest questions, because that way I won’t
have to think too much, and answer the questions right away. To me that would be easier, but not to
others it will be difficult for them. Maybe others work in a different way and that’s just easier for them.

3) What are my possible choices?

My possible choices are that I should take my time by taking the test, read the questions carefully, use
the most helpful strategies, and focus. This is the only way, or my only choices to be able to go through a
situation like this in school, or in college. College will be different and it won’t work like school, so
basically you got to stay focus in class, and pay attention the time you’re in that class.

4) What’s the likely outcome of each possible choice?

The most likely possible choice, is by staying focused and doing what you have to do. Use what you have
to use in order to finish faster but that you know you will do good in your assignments, your tests,
exams, etc.
