Votann Kill Team

A Votann kill team consists of two fire teams selected from the following list:
● Hearthkyn
● (More possibly following release)

Abilities
Void Armour

● This operative is unaffected by the Splash critical hit rule unless it is the target of the
shooting attack.
● Each time a shooting attack is made against this operative, if the ranged weapon has the
blast X or Torrent X special rule, or makes a shooting attack against each operative
within range of a specified point (e.g. Detonate), in the Roll Defence Dice step of that
shooting attack, you can re-roll one one of your defence dice.

Eye of the Ancestors

● Each time an enemy operative would incapacitate a friendly Votann operative they are
marked with a Judgement Token.
● Judgement Tokens applied are removed at the end of the turning point.
● Votann operatives fighting in combat or making a shooting attack against an enemy
operative with a Judgement Token gain the Rending special rule.
Hearthkyn Fire Team
Hearthkyn Fire Team includes five Hearthkyn operatives selected from the following list:
● Hearthkyn Warrior each separately equipped with a gun butt and one of the following
options:
○ Autoch-pattern bolter
○ Ion Blaster
● Hearthkyn Gunner each separately equipped with a gun butt and one of the following
options:
○ EtaCarn plasma beamer
○ HYLas auto rifle
○ L7 missile launcher
○ Magna-rail rifle
● Hearthkyn Comms each separately equipped with a gun butt and one of the following
options:
○ Autoch-pattern bolter
○ Ion Blaster
● Hearthkyn Medic each separately equipped with a gun butt and one of the following
options:
○ Autoch-pattern bolter
○ Ion Blaster
● Hearthkyn Scanner each separately equipped with a gun butt and one of the following
options:
○ Autoch-pattern bolter
○ Ion Blaster

Hearthkyn Warrior operatives can be selected more than once, each other operative cannot be
selected more then once and only up to a maximum of two non-Hearthkyn Warrior operatives
per fire team. Hearthkyn Gunner operatives cannot include the same weapon more than once
in a kill team.

If your kill team does not include any Leader operatives, replace one Hearthkyn Warrior
operative for one Hearthkyn fire team, you can select one Hearthkyn Theyn operative
equipped with the following options:
● Autoch-pattern bolter; gun butt
● Ion Blaster; gun butt
● One option from each of the following:
○ Autoch-pattern bolt pistol or Ion pistol or EtaCarn plasma pistol
○ Concussion gauntlet or Plasma weapon
Strategic Ploys
Well-Ordered Retreat 1CP

Until the end of the Turning Point the AP cost of the Fall Back action for Votann operatives is
reduced by 1.

Luck Has. Need Keeps. Toil Earns. 1CP

Until the end of the Turning Point, each time a friendly Votann operative would lose a wound,
roll a D6: on a 6+ that wound is not lost.

Optimised Volley 1 CP

Until the end of the Turning Point, each time a friendly Votann operative with a weapon with
‘Bolt’ in the name makes a shooting attack, the operative in the Roll Attack Dice step of that
shooting attack can re-roll one of the attack dice.

Tactical Ploys
Ancestral Sentencing 1CP

Use this Tactical Ploy when an operative is making either a shooting attack or fights in
combat against an enemy operative with a Judgement Token, the operative can either retain
a failed hit as a normal hit or retain a normal hit as a critical hit.

Kinbond 1CP

Use this Tactical Ploy when an operative fights in combat, if they have a supporting operative
they can retain one of their hits as a critical.

Ion Storm 1CP

Use this Tactical Ploy when an operative is going to make a shooting attack using a weapon
with ‘Ion’ in the name, it gains the lethal 5+ special rule.
Equipment
Votann operatives in your kill team can be equipped with equipment from the list, as specified in
the mission sequence.

Any Equipment with a ⁺ can be selected a maximum of once, and each can be equipped with no
more than one of each item.

Gravitic Concussion Grenade (2EP)

The operative is equipped with the following range weapon for the battle:

Combat Weapon (2EP)

The operative is equipped with the following melee weapon for the battle:

Specialised Ammunition⁺ (3EP)

Select a ‘Bolt’ weapon an operative is equipped with, add 1 to both Damage characteristics of
that weapon for the battle.

Kahl’s Crest (3EP)

The operative gains the following ability for the battle:

Kahl’s Crest: Once per battle, when this operative is fighting in combat, making a shooting
attack or a shooting attack is being made against it, you can use the Command Re-roll Tactical
Ploy without spending any Command points.
