3. You are required to create an e-commerce website using appropriate tools. Details
question on Page 2.

Part A (GROUP)

Business proposal (10%)

You are required to produce a business proposal for your E-Commerce business.

Your proposal MUST include the following guidelines:


 Company name (i.e., SURIA ENTERPRISE, ABC Inc, etc…)
 Company Internet URL address by one of the free web hosting services such
as www.weebly.com or www.wix.com
 Describe the business model for your project :

 Company’s mission
 Business description
- What you will be selling? Products, Services, or Both?
- Is it Business to Business (B2B), Business to Consumer (B2C), or both?
- Where you will be located and why? Will locate the business on a major Internet
backbone such as TM Unifi, Time, etc.? – If not – please explain why.
- What will be your major source of revenue?
**If the site sells products and services, the revenue stream is observable and is
considered “straight forward”.
**If the revenue is produced in another manner, the revenue stream must be clearly
presented. It is assumed the website is a “pro-profit” entity.

- How will you attain distribution?


- How can you make sure that your company exists? If no one knows your website
exists, your company can be put of business sooner or later.
- What will be your competitive advantage? – cost leadership, differentiation, focus, or
something else

Developing E-Commerce Website (30%)

You are required to develop a website based on your proposal using free web hosting
services such as www.weebly.com or www.wix.com.
The list of the following web page must be INCLUDE in your E-Commerce website.
 Company home page
 Introduction of Company’s Management and Employment page
 Product or service information page
 Product or service order form page
 About us page
 FAQ (frequently asked question) page using the FAQ template
 Contact page (e.g., company address, email, phone number….)
 Product returns policy or service quality guarantee policy page
 Customer feedback page
 Link to other company’s site as an extra service to customers
 Other relevant pages for your website (e.g., security policy, order tracking page by a
delivery company such as Poslaju, J&T, DHL, etc…)

However, you may refer to the web page detail content below as references to build your e-
commerce website.

At a minimum, any e-commerce website needs to consist of these elements:
1. Home page
 Your home page should include:
o Logo/Heading
o Navigation links to other pages
o A short introduction/description of your business
o Appropriate images
o A special offer (optional)
o Some recent news about your business (optional)

2. Product (or Services) page(s)


 Your Product Pages should include:
o Pictures, descriptions, order and price information for your products
and/or services.
o Navigation links to other pages, especially home, about us, order and
other product pages.

o Links to a shopping cart, if appropriate.

3. About Us page
 Your About Us page should include:
o Tag line or slogan: A few words or a brief sentence summarizing
what the organization does. This could be a mission statement or
something similar.
o Tell your story: 1-3 paragraphs that offer a more detail about the
organization's history, goals and main accomplishments.
 These items are recommended for About Us pages, but not required for
this class:
o Fact sheet: A section following the summary that elaborates on its
key points and other essential facts about the organization.
o Detailed information: Subsidiary pages with more depth for people
who want to learn more about the organization.

4. Webform or shopping cart


 Your Web Form/Shopping Cart:
o If you choose to use WooCommerce or an E-commerce Builder a
shopping cart is included, but you don't need to activate it using a
merchant account or credit card
o If you create an HTML site it needs to have a Web form or a shopping
cart, but it does not need to be connected to a merchant account.
 Web forms are pages that have text fields and other clickable
buttons, etc. that can be used to order products. When you
submit the information, it will be sent via email or some other
Common Gateway Interface (CGI) to you, the business
owner/manager.
 if you choose to have a shopping cart and are using Shopify,
an easy option is Shopify Payments. You can even test without
charging a card using test mode. Shopify provides easy-to-
follow instructions to set up and test Shopify Payments.
 PayPal.
 Many of you are already using PayPal. Their account
and shopping cart are free until you have a transaction.
It's also very easy to set up.

 Your Contact Us page should include:

 Your Privacy Policy page should include:
o Privacy Policy: you can visit any of the sites that your textbook refers
to that has one and adapt it for your own use. Change any appropriate
information. Here are a couple excellent models for a privacy

 Better Business Bureau's sample privacy policy
 Shopify privacy policy generator (includes a refund and terms
of service templates)

 Optional: Return Policy - if you sell items you will also need a return policy
for legal protection

Other Requirements
 Your Web site needs to be on the World Wide Web. You need to publish the website
for presentation and marks purposes. You can unpublished the website after the
presentation of the group project.
 Do a user manual (save as pdf file) and submit it with your website folder @ LMS.
