English/Reading

 What were your key takeaways so far?
Assessing higher-order thinking skills can be challenging. However,
this session served as a reminder of the importance of employing
specific assessment methods, tools, and skilled questioning techniques
designed to gauge students' capacities for analyzing, evaluating, and
synthesizing mathematical concepts, rather than just recalling of facts
or procedures.

• How are you at multitasking?

I find multitasking as indispensable and challenging. As a math teacher, I
learned to do many things at once to handle all the different jobs I had to
do. I had to plan lessons, teach, check how well my students were doing,
and give them helpful feedback. At the same time, I also had to make sure
I didn't forget about my own learning, spending time with my family and
friends, and doing things I enjoyed outside of school. It was important to
me to find a good balance between my work and personal life so I could be
happy and healthy. But sometimes trying to do too many things at once
can make it hard to do any of them really well. If I'm not careful, I might
not give enough time and attention to each task or student, which can
mean my teaching isn't as good as it could be.

• How is HOTS important to our learners?

Engaging in Higher Order Thinking Skills (HOTS) encourages students to
grasp concepts at a deeper level, moving beyond understanding. Through
participation in tasks that involve critical thinking, students tend to
internalize and maintain knowledge over the long term more effectively.

• How do you ensure that your brain is ready to take on HOTS?

When I have established healthy habits, and with consistent effort and
mindful attention to my brain's needs, I can ensure my readiness for
cognitive performance and tackle higher-order thinking tasks effectively.
