ROSE K2 XL
A 22-year-old male patient visited the clinic for lens delivery regarding the
prescription given two months ago: Rose K2 XL/7.8/14.6/-1.50DS for the right
eye (RE) and Menicon Tinu/8.1/9.4/-2.00DS for the left eye (LE). The patient
was diagnosed with keratoconus in the RE. He reported experiencing dry eyes,
particularly when using a phone and in air-conditioned areas. Currently
wearing spectacles that are four years old, with noticeable scratches and mild
peeling. Despite this, general health is considered unremarkable.

DIAGNOSIS/FINDINGS
1. Keratoconus on RE
2. Suitable to wear contact lens due to no ocular health issue
3. Dry eyes
4. Fitting is optimum on BE
MANAGEMENT
Pt was advised to wear the sem-scleral lens as it may reduce the higher-order aberrations
He was advised to use artificial tears (Systane Hydration) 3-4 times a day to lubricate cornea.
The lens was delivered to patient:-
RE: Rose K2 XL/7.8/14.6/- 1.50DS
LE: Menicon Tinu/8.1/9.4/-2.00DS.
Prescribed lens care was Menicon Menicare Plus (MPS), Opticare saline, Progen enzymatic
cleaner and B&L Rewetting drops.
Re-educate pt on lens insertion, removal and care maintenance.
TCA 1 month for aftercare assessment.

DISCUSSION
Aspheric back optic zone which decreases as BC steepens.
Front surface aberration control.
Precise edge lift control.
Reverse geometry in flatter base curves.
