NARRATIVE REPORT
On the month of October a Grade-10 Science teacher, Ma’am Loulela Antonio disseminated an
announcement to her students, that as a part of their Science performance task, each student must do a
‘‘plastic waste-collection and cleaning’’ that will serve as a ‘‘fundraising’’ for a purpose, in each
designated places. Before all, we agreed that all of the accumulated funds for the said task would be
contributed and used to buy a printer accessible to all of the grade students. Upon agreement of this
performance task, each student must take documentation and a report regarding their progress and
experience on the activity, having this documentation and report to be submitted in the week of
October 30-November 3.

As a Grade-10 student in section Red, I Joh Roel Abarca partake in the said activity in compliance
with my quarterly requirements. My report is on my progress in the task, which I started on October
30 there-stated in this report.

I as a member of the community of Brgy. Minuswang Barugo, Leyte, I noticed that a major problem
in our community is the lack of trashcans which led to the scattering of trash in the community,
especially plastic waste. Many bottles of soft drinks, lubricants, and other dairy products are visible on
every street in our place. As a chance for the said task I’ve decided to start on our barangay, on the
first day I started to collect bottles mainly from places near stores. On the first day, my estimated
total of plastic bottles collected was nearly 3 kilos or almost half a sack. I decided to continue my
collection spree on the second day which I completed filling a whole sack. Upon completing a whole
sack of plastic bottles I decided to visit a known ‘’garbage buyer’’ at our barangay and I asked if he
still bought plastic bottles and the like, however sadly enough he replied that he was out of the said job
anymore, instead, he referred me to the nearest junk shop which is located near our barangay. After
having information on where to sell the collected plastic bottles I’ve continued to collect more plastic
bottles since according to the price of the plastic bottles which cost Php. 5.00 per kilo. Proceeding to
the 4th day of the week I collected two and a half sacks of bottles and I decided to sell them in the said
junkshop. However, the total kilos of my collected plastic bottles is 8 and a half kilos, which would
sum up to Php. 42.50 and still short for the fixed amount of Php. 50.00. But since I have classmates
who are in the same barangay as me and they’ve also started collecting I figured that there might not
be enough plastics present in our barangay. So for me to reach the exact amount I’ve decided to sell
the scrap metals I’ve also collected since I needed a Php. 8.00 and satisfactorily enough I only need a
half kilo of the scrap metals and I’ve completed the total amount of Php.50.00 by Thursday.
