The Tell Tale Heart

Guilt can’t be hidden forever. There are two men, one of which has an eye that is “evil” and
the other is “mad”. The one who is perceived as mad is angered by the evil-eye man. For more
than a week the mad-man planned to murder the evil-eye, not the man who had it, the eye itself.
He finally did and chopped him up, but could still hear his heartbeat. He turned himself in when
the police came over, because he couldn’t bear the heartbeats.

“Yes! Yes, I killed him. Pull up the boards and you shall see! I killed him. But why does his
heart not stop beating?! Why does it not stop!?” page 4. He was haunted by the heart beats of
the man he murdered, he couldn’t stand it.

‘My head hurt and there was a strange sound in my ears.’ page 4.

‘I was suffering more than I could bear, from their smiles, and from that sound.’ page 4.
‘And the sound, too, became louder.’ page 4. His guilt kept getting worse.

A good quote I think describes my main idea is….

“Calvin : There's no problem so awful, that you can't add some guilt to it and make it

even worse.”

― Bill Watterson, The Complete Calvin and Hobbes

I think this quote goes well with the story because what he did was horrendous. Either way,
he added guilt to the situation and it made it 100% worse for him. The act + guilt made him turn
himself into the police because he was so miserable.

Taylor Swift - no body, no crime (Official Lyric Video) ft. HAIM

This song is called No Body No Crime by Taylor Swift, it's about murder. Usually when someone
murders they feel guilty about, how I see this song relating is through just the murder.
