Texts: Jeremiah 31: 31- 34, Hebrews 5: 5– 10, John 12: 20 – 33

Introduction:
The anchor text I have chosen for todays sermon is John 12: 24 (Yohane 12:24)

Jesus implies that before a seed will germinate and to produce, it has to die (rot) first
in the soil hence our theme for today is DIE WITH JESUS AND LIVE. Sing PH

During tournaments that has prominent trophies, participants are eaged to Die Hard
to win. This means that they should be selfless at the field of play. To die with Jesus
means to leave a selfless life for Jesus.

1. GOD DOES EVERYTHING POSSIBLE TO BRING MAN BACK TO

HIMSELF:
Though sin seperated man from God, He (God) has promised to bring back his people
to make them a nation and a Holy priesthood unto himself (Jer. 31: 8)

2. A NEW COVENENANT WAS ESTABLISHED. In light of bringing God’s people

to himself, He made a new covenant with them. The old covernant was broken
though the part of human was just to obey. God said in.
Jeremiah 31:33 "I will put my law in their minds and write it on their hearts. I will
be their God, and they will be my people. NIV. No one will tell another to know God.
 3. JESUS CHRIST WAS GOD IN HUMAN. Jesus was human, he felt pains and
humiliations as we also feel. (Heb. 5: 7 and John 11: 35) but he was obedience
till death to fulfill the purpose of dying to save humankind from sin and eternal
distructions.

4. CHRIST DIED BECAUSE OF OUR SINS

Isaiah 53: 11 – 12 Verse 11 He shall see of the travail of his soul, and shall be
satisfied: by his knowledge shall my righteous servant justify many; FOR HE
SHALL BEAR THEIR INIQUITIES.
12 Therefore will I divide him a portion with the great, and he shall divide the spoil
with the strong; because he hath poured out his soul unto death: and he was numbered
with the transgressors; AND HE BARE THE SIN OF MANY, AND MADE
INTERCESSION FOR THE TRANSGRESSORS. KJV The punishment of our
well- being was laid upon him

HOW DO WE DIE WITH JESUS?

1. Believe in Jesus and be baptized (Romans 6: 4) We were therefore buried with
him through baptism into death in order that, just as Christ was raised from the
dead through the glory of the Father, we too may live a new life. NIV

2. Having fellowship with Jesus (People of God)

3. Do not desire the sinful nature of the flesh (Romans 6: 6 that we crusify the old
body so that we will no longer be slaves to sin.), Gal. 5: 19 – 21 spells out
some desires of the flesh.

4. Expel selfishness (Romans 12: 25) those who love their souls will lose them.
5. Expansion of the Church. Introduce the idea of Ankaase Dankwa Church.
 BENEFITS OF DYING WITH JESUS
1. There is no condemnation for those who believe in Christ Jesus. Romans 8: 1

2. Jesus Christ is the resurrection and life. John 11:23-26

23 Jesus said to her, "Your brother will rise again."
24 Martha answered, "I know he will rise again in the resurrection at the last
day."
25 Jesus said to her, "I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in me
will live, even though he dies;
26 and whoever lives and believes in me will never die. Do you believe this?"

It is my prayer that anything (Marriages, Businesses, Fellowship with Christ, Favour etc) that has
lost life be resurrected (regain life) in Jesus’ name.

APPLICATION
 Jesus died because of our sins. Let us deny the desire of the sinful nature of the
flash to live with Christ
 Believe in Jesus and be Baptized
 Let partake in the Holy Communion with the Lord. Many of us do not
recognize the importance of communion with God. It is one of surest way of
having friendship with God.
 God is calling his people back to himself with his spirit and a new covenant
to make them a holy nation unto himself. God placed this covenant in the
heart and minds of his people. PH 603 sings “What I seek to say in this life,
and whatever I shall do ......”

May the good Lord give us strength to walk with Him always. Amen.
