1. What are the key concepts that you have learned in this session?

The key concepts that I’ve Learned in this session, is about as an Educator/Teacher we
should know on using applications and be smarter enough on using it to prevent of being
hacked. Data privacy can help to protect our data information towards people that can
possibly use with unauthorized persons. We should know the threats that we will encounter if
our data information will at risk or being leak. We also need to know on handling situations
like someone is using in our profiles and also in cyberbullying. This method will mold us to
become aware of applications that we will use.

2. How can you integrate this in teaching and in the field of education?

As an Educator, I will use Integrated teaching strategies by guiding my learners to prevent


this kind of situation. I will teach them to be wiser enough when using gadgets especially
in applications. I will show them what will be the result if their data information is leak and
used with someone else. I will encourage them to use secure password and never share
to anyone else. I will also show them the disadvantages on doing cyberbullying to anyone.

Data Privacy and Cyber Security in Education

Data Privacy is the one who will protect our data information, ensuring that it is collected,
processed, stored and shared in a manner that respects our rights. It is important that Data
Privacy is secured from any bad aspects that can harm to yourself. The risk of the Data privacy,
data breaches and hacking insider threats like third – party data sharing. By using strong data
and security measures can help us to prevent hacking, phishing, smishing and cyberbullying.
Data Privacy Act of 2012 also known as Republic Act No. 10173 says law that aims to protect the
fundamental human rights. It defines personal information that can be used to identify an
individual, such as name, address, telephone number, email address or biometric data. DPA
provides for the following rights of individuals with respect to their personal information. 1) The
right to be informed about the collection and processing of their personal information. 2) the right
to access their personal information 3) the right to have their personal information corrected or
deleted 4) the right to object to the processing of their personal information 5) the right to file a
complaint with the National Privacy Commission if their data privacy rights are violated, Examples
are

1) Unauthorized Person access your Data information without your consent.


 To prevent this kind of situation first thing to do is create a secure password.
2) Cyberbullying
 It is an act of using information and communications technology to harass,
intimidate or harm an individual or group.
3) Scam
 A dishonest or illegal plan or activity.
4) Catfish or we called it as a Poser. Why people Catfish?
a. Insecurity
b. Concealing their identity
c. Revenge
d. Experimenting sexual preference
e. To harass their targets
5) Smishing
 It is a form of phishing that occurs over SMS or text. How to avoid?
 Block unwanted calls and text messages
 Don’t give your personal or financial information
 Resist the pressure to act immediately
 Stop and talk to someone you trust

With this information, we should be vigilant of our data information especially when using gadgets
and applications. Nowadays there are lots of people will have used it in a bad way. It can have
hacked your bank account, or used your identity in a bad things and many more that can harm to
our daily lives. Even if you have nothing to hide, you need to protect your privacy because
something completely innocent-seeming today might lead to a huge personal threat in the future. To
prepare for these unknown assaults on your data, the only thing you can do is to make it less
accessible.
