RCCG FAMILY WEEKEND 2023

Welcome Address By Mummy GO

W
e give glory to God for the opportunity to witness another Family
Weekend this year. We thank Him for the tremendous changes we have
witnessed in the lives of the categories of people who have been touched
through the previous Family Weekend teachings. May His name be praised in Jesus
name. With Jesus Joy, we welcome you to this year's Family Weekend in the name of
the Father, and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.

God has inspired us this year to speak on the Theme: “He cares”.
As we all know, Jesus told us in I Peter 5:7 that we should cast our cares upon Him
for He cares for us. He knows what we are going through, our needs, and our
challenges and He is able to meet them. All we need to do is to allow him to be
involved.

He promised to take care of our past, present, and our future. He said in Jeremiah
29:11 that His thought towards us is of Peace, not of evil, and to give us a glorious
future. He said in Isa 46:4 “And even to your old age I am he; and even to hoar hairs
will I carry you: I have made, and I will bear; even I will carry, and will deliver you.”
Remember God is not a man that He will lie as the Bible says in Num 23:19 “God is
not a man, that he should lie; neither the son of man, that he should repent: hath he
said, and shall he not do it? or hath he spoken, and shall he not make it good?”

Are you confused about the work or business that is not moving well, remember
Peter who failed in his fishing business? Jesus intervened and there was a turnaround
for good as in Luke 5:1-8
You need to know that Jesus cares not only for our physical and material needs but
also for our emotions and our psychological well-being. Above all, He cares for your
soul by providing Salvation: Jn 3:16. If there is any member of your family who is
yet to experience salvation, this is the time to point them to the only Saviour of the
world, Jesus Christ, so as to enjoy all the cares he had provided.

His care is non-discriminatory. He cares for the young and the old, for the rich and
the poor, for the sick and the healthy, for the married, the singles, and widows,
because the bible tells us that it is only in Him that we live, move, and have our
being. Acts 17:28

In conclusion, let us embrace this opportunity to grow, cherish, and celebrate the
profound love and care given by Christ Jesus within our families.
Thank you for being a part of the Family Weekend 2023 celebrations.
God bless you.

RCCG FAMILY WEEKEND 2023

THURSDAY 16TH
NOVEMBER, 2023 Faith Clinic
CHILDREN AND TEENS
TOPIC: HAVING CONFIDENCE IN GOD'S LOVE AND CARE
TEXT: 1PETER 5:7
Introduction:
Dear children, parents, and guardians. This year’s theme for the Family Weekend is a simple, yet
profoundly reassuring truth: God cares for each and every one of you. In the midst of life's
challenges, uncertainties, and joys, it's essential to remember that you are deeply loved and
cherished by a God who cares for you in ways beyond human understanding.

A. Understanding God's Care:

Let's start by exploring what it means for God to care for us. God's care is like a steady lighthouse in
the stormy sea of life. It means that no matter what you're going through—be it problems at school,
difficulties at home, or the challenges of growing up—God is there with you, guiding you, and
loving you unconditionally. He promised neither to leave you nor forsake you. Heb. 13:5
I. God Cares in Your Struggles and Difficult Times:
Life can be tough, and it's natural to face difficulties. But in those moments, remember that God
cares. When you feel lonely, anxious, or uncertain, turn to God in prayer. Pour out your heart, and
you'll find comfort in the knowledge that you are never alone. God's caring presence is like a warm,
embracing hug, offering contentment and succor in times of need. Psa. 46:1 Even in our darkest
moments, God's care provides strength and solace. When we face challenges at school or
difficulties in relationships, we can find refuge in God's unwavering love and support. Isa. 41:10.

II. God Cares in Your Joys:

God's care isn't limited to times of trouble; God rejoices with you in moments of happiness too.
Your successes, your joys, and your laughter are all precious to God. When you achieve something,
big or small, remember to thank God for the abilities and opportunities provided. Gratitude
connects you to God's care, making your joys even more fulfilling.

III. God Cares to Forgive You:

Psalm 103:12 reminds us, "As far as the east is from the west, so far does he remove our
transgressions from us." God's caring nature is evident in His forgiveness. No matter our mistakes,
God's love offers us a chance for redemption and a fresh start. 1 John 4:9-10 proclaims, "In this the
love of God was made manifest among us, that God sent his only Son into the world, so that we
might live through him. In this is love, not that we have loved God but that he loved us and sent his
Son to be the propitiation for our sins." God's ultimate act of care is found in His sacrificial love
through Jesus Christ. This love redeems us, gives us hope, and assures us of eternal life.

IV. God Cares to Guide You:

Proverbs 3:5-6 advises, "Trust in the Lord with all your heart and do not lean on your own
understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths." God's
care is reflected in His guidance. When we seek His wisdom through prayer and study, He directs
our steps and ensures we are on the right path.

V. God's Care in Provision:

Matthew 6:26 reassures us, "Look at the birds of the air: they neither sow nor reap nor gather into
barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they?" God's care

Theme: 3
“HE CARES “ I Peter 5:7
RCCG FAMILY WEEKEND 2023

extends to our daily needs. Just as He provides for the birds and the flowers, He ensures we have
what we need each day. Phil. 4:19: Psa. 37:25

B. Embracing God's Care in Everyday Life:

God's care is not limited to Sundays or special occasions; it's a constant presence in your everyday
life. When you wake up in the morning, remember that God cares for you, giving you a new day
filled with opportunities to learn, grow, and spread love. When you face challenges at school or in
your relationships, trust in God's care to provide you with wisdom and patience. Allow God's love
to guide your actions, decisions, and words, shaping you into a person of grace and integrity.

I. Finding Comfort in Scriptures:

Throughout the Bible, there are countless verses reminding us of God's care. Psalm 23:1 says, "The
Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want." This means that God provides for all your needs, ensuring
you lack nothing essential. Philippians 4:6-7 encourages us not to be anxious but to present our
requests to God, and in return, we'll experience a peace that surpasses all understanding. These
verses, among many others, serve as a source of comfort and assurance, reminding you of God's
unwavering care in your life.

II. Responding to God's Care with Gratitude:

Gratitude is a powerful way to acknowledge God's care. Take a moment each day to express your
gratitude for the blessings in your life. Your family, friends, health, and the opportunities you have
are all manifestations of God's care. When you cultivate a thankful heart, you open yourself to
experiencing God's care more deeply, appreciating the love that surrounds you.

III. Reaching Out in Faith:

In times of doubt or when you feel distant from God's care, reach out in faith. Pray, meditate, or talk
to a trusted friend, family member, or pastor. Share your thoughts and concerns, and allow others
to support you in your faith journey. Remember, it takes courage to ask for help, and God often
works through the love and care of those around you.

IV. Living a Life that Reflects God's Care:

Lastly, as you continue to grow and mature, strive to live a life that reflects God's care to the world.
Show kindness to the lonely, offer help to those in need, and be a friend to the friendless. By living
out God's love in your actions, you become a beacon of hope, showing others the transformative
power of God's care. As recipients of God's immense love and care, it is also our duty to reflect that
love and care onto others. Be kind, compassionate, and understanding toward your friends, family,
and even strangers. In doing so, you become a living testament to God's caring nature.

Conclusion:
Dear children, as you go from this place today, carry with you the knowledge that God cares for
you deeply, beyond measure. Let this understanding be a source of strength, joy, and compassion
in your life. Trust in God's care, embrace it, and share it with others. As you do, you will find that
God's love is not just a concept, but a living, breathing reality, shaping your life in remarkable
ways. Always remember that you are valued, cherished, and deeply cared for by God. In times of
trouble, joy, confusion, or clarity, turn to God. God's love is a constant, unwavering presence in
your life, offering guidance, comfort, and peace.

May you walk in the light of God's care, spreading love and kindness wherever you go. May you be
blessed abundantly and be a blessing to others.

TOPIC: HE CARES FOR YOUR FUTURE
TEXT: I Peter 5:7(KJV) “Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.”
Jeremiah 29:11 “(KJV) For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD,
thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end”.
INTRODUCTION

T
here is no other person who can be called the burden bearer like Jesus because he cares for us.
Jesus spent his life and ministry taking care of his sheep all over Jerusalem.

(KJV) How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went about
doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him. Acts 10:38

In Hebrews 4:15-16 the bible says Jesus had been a man of like passion like us so he understands our
frailty. That makes him to be caring like no other one could ever be.
(KJV) For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but
was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin.
16 Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to
help in time of need.
Jesus loved his own even to death, which was the greatest price anyone can pay.
(KJV) Now before the feast of the passover, when Jesus knew that his hour was come that he should
depart out of this world unto the Father, having loved his own which were in the world, he loved them
unto the end. John 13:1
Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends. John 15:13 (KJV)
What demonstrates this overwhelming care?

A. HE CARES FOR YOUR PAST

Except by the grace of God, the past could have stopped many of us from becoming God's best for our
lives.
* Saul of Tarsus had his past forgotten and he received the grace of God abundantly. Acts 9:1-16
Whenever you deeply consider your evil past looking carefully you will be grateful that the sovereign
grace and mercy of God saw you through. Because while we were yet sinners Christ has died for us.
Rom. 5:8

B. HE CARES FOR YOUR PRESENT

Christ cares for our present, because he is the present help in trouble, God is absolutely concerned
about what goes on with us in the present.
God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.(KJV) Ps. 46:1
There was a very touching story that illustrates the fact that even when we are presently in dire need of
help and intervention the arms of God is not short that he will not save us. John 8:1-9
This woman caught in the very act of adultery was pardoned and set free by Jesus Christ. There are
several challenges afflicting our present lives as youth, ranging from societal pressure, National
Security and global decadence, yet whenever we call upon Him in the day of trouble, he is always
there to make a difference.

C. HE CARES FOR YOUR FUTURE

Not only does the Lord Jesus care for our past and present, he equally cares for our future due to the
thought he has towards us, thought of good and not of evil, of peace and not of disaster, to give us a

future and a hope.

For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil,
to give you an expected end. Jeremiah (KJV) 29:11

1. He cares for our Mental Sanity

Like the mad man of Gadarenes, who was destined to be a great evangelist but was kept in the tomb
under a heavy demonic oppression until the lord who cares for his future showed up to restore his
mental state.Mk. 5:1-20
Many are in state of addiction to several substances or as a result of life tortures and turmoil has been
affected and getting deranged, but the Lord who restored the sanity of the Gadarenes will attend to
their cases.

2. He cares for our Total health and well-being

One of the significant reasons why Jesus healed Peter’s mother in-law was that she might ministered
to the Lord and his disciples. Jesus laid hands on the woman, the healing took place and she rose up to
minister to their needs. Mk. 1:29-31
Jesus is ready to heal you very well so you can do His work and reach out to His people.

3. He cares for our Financial Future

Jesus knew that tax will be required from himself and Peter, that was why he took him towards the
river where there will be a fish which has the gold coin in its mouth. This saved both of them from all
forms of embarrassment. Mk. 17:24-27
So, with Christ, your financial future is guaranteed Our God makes provision before every vision.
(KJV) For ye know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that, though he was rich, yet for your sakes he
became poor, that ye through his poverty might be rich. II Corinthians 8:9

4. He cares for our Marital Future

One of the major reasons why Christ attended the marriage in Cana of Galilee was to save the
marriage from future embarrassment and sudden collapse. Jesus was invited and while present they
ran out of wine; he not only replenished them with wine but gave them a sweeter wine. John 2: 1:11.
Because of the invitation extended to Jesus, their wedding ceremony and marriage was shielded from
disaster. When we invite him to take charge of our marital future, he takes proper care and Makes us
fruitful and multiply.

5. He cares for our Spiritual life

- Jesus has gone to prepare a place for us out of the fact that he has a great plan for us. John 14:1-4
Jesus knew Peter may not be strong enough to sustain the pressure so he prayed for Peter ahead of his
temptation. Thank God for the seed of prayers, it helped Peter from going totally astray. Luke 22:31-32
He even restored him 3 times for his 3 times denials. John 21:15-17. So, Christ has promised that even
to the hoarse of our hair, he carry us till we reign with him in eternity. Isaiah 46:3-4

What does he expect from us, in order to guarantee the care for our future?
Since nothing goes for nothing, for his overwhelming care for our future, the Lord expects us to;
1. Love him in return. John 14:21, prov. 8:17
2. Love our brethren also. I John 3:13-17: Psa. 133:1-3

Prayer Focus!
1. Father! Let my life never lack your care even for a moment.
2. Lord! It's your grace that brought me this far let it see me to the end.

TOPIC: JESUS CARES FOR MATURED
SINGLES & SINGLE PARENTS
INTRODUCTION
Certainly, the Bible provides guidance and insight for various aspects of life, including relationships
and family dynamics. When considering the verses from 1 Corinthians 7:32-33, it is evident that the
Apostle Paul acknowledges the different concerns of married individuals compared to those who are
unmarried. For matured singles and single parents, these verses, along with others in the Old and
New Testament, offer profound wisdom and comfort. In the Old Testament, Psalm 68:5 states that
God is a father to the fatherless and a defender of widows, emphasizing God's care and concern for
those who find themselves in single-parent situations.

This assurance is vital for single parents, reminding them that they are not alone in their journey; God
stands as their constant support.Additionally, in Isaiah 54:5, God is referred to as the husband to the
widow, signifying a deep and intimate relationship. This metaphorical language conveys God's
commitment to those who have lost their spouses, indicating that His love and care are steadfast and
unchanging. In the New Testament, Jesus Himself exemplified a deep understanding and compassion
for matured singles and single parents. He often reached out to individuals on the margins of society,
showing them love and acceptance.

The story of the Samaritan woman at the well (John 4:1-42) highlights Jesus' unconditional love for a
woman who had been married multiple times, displaying His acceptance of her, despite societal
judgments. Moreover, Jesus' teachings in Matthew 6:25-34 emphasize the importance of trusting
God's providence. For matured singles who may have concerns about their future, these verses
remind them of God's faithfulness and provision. Single parents, too, can find solace in these words,
knowing that God cares for them and their children's well-being.In the context of 1 Corinthians 7:32-
33, matured singles are encouraged to focus on serving the Lord wholeheartedly, without the
distractions that often come with marriage.

This undivided devotion allows them to grow spiritually and contribute significantly to the
community around them. For single parents, the emphasis on God's role as a father to the fatherless
provides assurance that they and their children are under divine protection. Moreover, the supportive
community within the church, as depicted in Acts 6:1-7, demonstrates the early Christians' care for
widows and the importance of community support for single parents.Let us explore this topic from
different perspectives, focusing on the experiences of matured singles and single parents through the
lens of relevant Bible verses.

Perspective 1: The Blessings of Contentment.

The Apostle Paul, in Philippians 4:11-12, speaks of the secret of being content in any circumstance,
highlighting the importance of finding peace and fulfillment regardless of one's relationship status.
For matured singles, this verse teaches the value of contentment in their singleness journey, trusting
that God's plan is perfect and embracing the opportunities for spiritual growth and service.

Perspective 2: God's Provision for Single Parents

In 1 Timothy 5:3-8, the Bible stresses the responsibility of families to care for their own, especially
widows. This principle extends to single parents, reminding the community of believers of their duty
to support and uplift single parents and their children.

Theme: 7
“HE CARES “ I Peter 5:7
RCCG FAMILY WEEKEND 2023

It echoes the concept of God's provision through the church, emphasizing the importance of
compassion and practical assistance for those raising children alone.

Perspective 3: Finding Strength in Weakness

The Apostle Paul, in 2 Corinthians 12:9-10, shares his experience of God's grace being sufficient in
times of weakness. This perspective is incredibly powerful for single parents who might feel
overwhelmed. It reassures them that God's strength is made perfect in their weakness, offering hope
and endurance amid challenges. This verse becomes a source of inspiration, reminding single parents
that they can rely on God's strength to navigate their unique journey.

Perspective 4: Embracing God's Unconditional Love

In Romans 8:38-39, Paul emphasizes that nothing can separate us from God's love, neither death nor
life, neither angels nor demons. This profound truth applies to matured singles and single parents
alike, reminding them that they are unconditionally loved by God, regardless of their relationship
status. Understanding this love brings a sense of security and belonging, reinforcing the idea that their
worth is not determined by their marital status but by God's eternal, unwavering love.

Perspective 5: A Call to Community and Fellowship

Hebrews 10:24-25 emphasizes the importance of meeting together and encouraging one another,
especially as the Day of the Lord approaches. For both matured singles and single parents, active
participation in a supportive Christian community becomes paramount. It provides a space for
fellowship, mutual support, and spiritual growth, reinforcing the idea that they are not alone in their
journey but are part of a larger, caring family in Christ.

Incorporating these perspectives and biblical principles, matured singles and single parents can find
strength, contentment, and hope in their unique situations. By embracing God's promises and leaning
on the support of their faith community, they can navigate life's challenges with grace, knowing that
they are deeply loved and cherished by their heavenly Father.

In conclusion, the Bible offers profound insights into the care and concern God has for matured singles
and single parents. Through various verses and narratives, it is evident that God's love is all-
encompassing, providing guidance, strength, and community support for those in these situations.
Embracing these teachings can bring comfort and assurance, reminding individuals that they are
valued and cherished in the eyes of their Creator.

WHY SHOULD MY CARE BE CAST UPON HIM.

As it has been explained earlier, to cast your care upon Him, is to trust Him wholly and depend
on Him for every situation.

Here are some of the reasons why God Almighty is the only One You Can Cast your Care
Upon.
1. He volunteers to be my Care Giver. 1 Peter 5:7

Because these men relied on God, Cast their Care on and trust in Him, what could have
destroyed them, brought them promotion. Psalms 46:1-5, 27:5

2. Hannah. 1 Samuel 1:1-end.

Barrenness was defeated in the Life of Hannah, and Shame and Sorrow disappeared
simply because she Cast her Care upon the Lord. 1 Samuel 2:1-2, she was able to sing a
new song, because she Cast her Care upon the Lord.

3. Blind Bartimeus. Mark 10:46-52

This man threw away darkness, he practically traded darkness and the Light of Life gave
him light.

4. Jabez. 1 Chron. 4:9-10

This man was born into Sorrow, named a sorrowful name, but the caregiver changed his
story for the better because he called on Him.

SUNDAY THANKSGIVING SERVICE

TOPIC: HE CARES
TEXT: 1PETER 5:7
INTRODUCTION
Today, we gather in the warmth of God's love to reflect on a topic of utmost significance – His care
for our family. In a world often marked by uncertainties and challenges, we find solace in the
unshakable promise that God deeply cares for each member of our families. Let us open our hearts
and minds to the Word of God as we explore this comforting and profound truth that resonates
through the pages of scripture and echoes in our hearts: He cares. Although this world is often
marked by indifference and self-centeredness, our confidence is in the unwavering care of our
heavenly Father, the depths of His love, and the profound impact it has on our lives. (Jer. 29:11).

I. God's Care in Creation:

From the moment of our conception, we are cradled in the palm of God's hand. The intricate design
of our bodies and the delicate balance of nature testify to the meticulous care of our Creator. Psalm
139:13-15 beautifully illustrates this truth, reminding us that we are fearfully and wonderfully
made. God’s care is evident in every heartbeat and every breath we take. (Jer. 1:5)

II. God's Care and Design for the Family:

After creating man, God, in His infinite wisdom, established the family (Gen. 2:18-25). Families are
not merely a social construct but a divine institution, designed to nurture, support, and love one
another. In Ephesians 5:25-33, husbands are called to love their wives just as Christ loved the
church, emphasizing sacrificial, unconditional love as the foundation of family life and the wife
also to reverence her husband.

III. God's Care for Unity:

Psalm 133:1 beautifully illustrates the importance of unity within the family: "How good and
pleasant it is when God’s people live together in unity!" God cares deeply about the unity of
families, urging us to foster love, respect, and understanding among family members. Through
communication, forgiveness, and empathy, families can navigate challenges together, knowing
that God's love binds them together. 1John 4:16-18

IV. God's Care in Our Challenges:

Life is filled with trials, and in those moments of darkness, we may wonder if God is truly there.
However, we are reminded in 1 Peter 5:7 to cast all our anxieties on Him because He cares for us. In
our moments of weakness, His strength is made perfect. He is our refuge and strength, an ever-
present help in trouble (Psalm 46:1). Our challenges are opportunities for God to demonstrate His
care and turn our trials into testimonies and our mess into a message.

V. God's Care of Protection and Provision:

The world can be a daunting and dangerous place, but God assures us of His protection over our
families. In Psalm 91:11, we read, "For He will command His angels concerning you to guard you in
all your ways." God's angels surround and protect our families, guiding us away from harm and
leading us toward paths of righteousness. In Matthew 6:26, Jesus reminds us of God's abundant

Theme: 12

provision as He cares for the birds of the air. How much more, then, does He care for each member
of our families? God's promise to provide extends beyond the physical necessities of life – He
provides emotional, spiritual, and relational sustenance. Trust in His providence strengthens the
family unit, instilling a sense of security and gratitude. Psalm 115:12

VI. God's Care in Redemption:

The ultimate manifestation of God’s care is found in the redemptive work of Jesus Christ. He
willingly bore our sins on the cross, enduring unimaginable suffering because He cares for us
beyond measure. Through His sacrifice, we find forgiveness, healing, and eternal life. His
resurrection is a testament to God’s victorious care, triumphing over sin and death. Romans 5:6-8:
John 3:16. Therefore if you have not given your life to Christ, this is an opportunity for you. Now is
your day of salvation. 2Cor.6:2

lives. May our families be a testament to God's love, grace, and faithfulness, inspiring others to seek
His care and embrace His eternal promises. Remember, God cares for your family – let this truth be
the foundation upon which your family stands strong, resilient, and united. Amen.
