I. Objectives
At the end of the lesson, the Grade 3 students with at least 75% accuracy
are expected to ;
a. demonstrate understanding of colors,
b. differentiate Primary, Secondary and Tertiary Colors; and
c. appreciate the use of colors in the daily life.

C. Materials: Visual aids, Cuts out colored papers, boxes, and YouTube videos

A. Preliminary Activities

4. Motivation
• Showing a music video to the students, about colors.
• Students will pick a paper inside the box.
• Let the students identify the color in the paper.
Activity (10mins.)
There are three empty box in front, and three box given to every group that contains balloon
with different color, the teacher then chooses a color and then say the color of the balloons
that student need to bring and place it in the empty box.
• When the activity ends the teacher will then check every box of the group to check if
the color of the balloon they bring in the box are correct.
• After the activity the teacher will then discuss for today’s topic.
Analysis
The teacher will ask students to raise their hand, to know what are the colors they know.
The teacher will discuss the three set of colors to the students, which are Primary,
Secondary and Tertiary Colors.
➢ Primary Colors
The primary colors consist of Color Red, Yellow, and Blue, this three colors are the top of
any color structure, and so they are known as the original parents of all the future generations
of colors.
➢ Secondary Colors
The secondary colors are Orange, Green and Violet. These color is known as the children of
the three Primary Color. These are color combinations created by the equal mixture of two
primary colors. On the color wheel, secondary colors are located between primary colors.
According to the traditional color wheel, red and yellow make orange, red and blue make
purple, and blue and yellow make green. If using an RGB color wheel, there’s another set of
secondary colors called additives: blue and green produce cyan, blue and red make
magenta, and blue and yellow will make green.
➢ Tertiary Colors
Finally, the remaining six colors are referred to as the Tertiary Colors, and these are Red-
Orange, Yellow-Orange, Yellow-Green, Blue-Green, Blue-Violet, Red-Violet. These colors
are known as the grandchildren of the primary colors. The combination of primary and
secondary colors is known as tertiary or intermediate colors, due to their compound nature.
Blue-green, blue-violet, red-orange, red-violet, yellow-orange, and yellow-green are color
combinations you can make from color mixing. On a color wheel, tertiary colors are between
primary and secondary colors.

This colors re formed by mixing a primary with a secondary colors.
